Sui Returns
It's been a bit since my last update. To recap, my founder Serafina Sapphire and her husband Urshanabi had founded something truly wacky and together had five kids, two sets of twins and one bad apple. The eldest set of twins, Basil and Briar, were off at college, Briar had become heiress. The younger set of twins, Olive and Orchid were finishing out their teenhood while the youngest sibling Ornella had only begun to be a teen, and was now old enough to get into some real mischief if I didn't watch it! Also living with the family was family friend Owain and his alien daughter Violet. Brahm, another family friend, had moved out earlier. Also living with the family was a family of wild wolves. Whitlock, his mate Sui and their pups Birch and Onyx where all members of the family at one time. Whitlock and Onyx still lived at home, Birch had been given away to Brahm and Sui ran away after some rather sinister growling and chasing from her son Onyx. But, that's all behind us now. The remaining members of the household live together more or less peacefully, for now.
Some things never change though...
"Looks like you'll be safe from my neglect, little fishies, I'm not heiress after all."
Ah, my dear, sweet Ornella. Now that the heir poll is past I feel like I can talk nice about you again. Your good looks, you sweet grace, your cavalier air around... well, anyone, really.
"Wow, could you be any more boring? I'm a Popularity Sim that doesn't like making friends, okay? Do you have a problem with that?"
That night Violet became a teen. I rolled Family, which I thought was very sweet but kinda didn't go with her messy, grouchy personality very well. Two teen misfits, what am I going to do?
"Time to get me a bunch of messy grouchy kids!"
More autonomous hugging and kissing between Orchid and Ornella. Orchid seems to genuinely like Ornella and Ornella seems to like her back in spite of herself. Maybe there's hope for her yet. You can also see in the background I'm painting a bunch of custom flamingo paintings to hang around the house. Because I just don't think there's enough pink in it yet.
"Hugging people? Doing something nice? With people?"
Violet had her uses, she could always be counted on to steal back the gnome when it was needed. Like I said, some things never change.
"Three AM, everyone's asleep, time to head off into the night alone for some good old fashioned thieving!"
Then another thought occured to me. I had one person in the house that didn't care about getting dirty. I also had a new EP that had a new bonus that required you to dig around in the dirt and get flithy. Perfect!
"I shall capture you my little bugs!"
"Aww..."
"Wrong bugs! Wrong bugs!"
A week had passed and it was now time for Orchid and Olive to head off to college.
"Time to find me some nerdy boys!"
"And maybe a BBF or two as well..."
As soon as the twins moved out Ornella hopped on the computer. In her underwear no less. I collapsed all of the info bars and selected her to see what was in her queue. Chat with Orchid. Aw, that's sweet!
"The place here is totally lame without you, sis. People suck. Come back and visit soon?"
It wasn't long before my founder and her spouse became elders. I decided they were going to be young looking, hip elders.
"I may be ancient but Grilled Cheese never gets old."
Later that day Orchid walked on to the lot, with Sui! The runaway icon finally disappeared and she walked on up into the house and demanded money from Urshanabi, who duitfully tipped her §100 for her hard work.
"Where ever did you find our wild wolf? Off at college, what was she doing there?"
At that time Ornella started dancing the smustle, badly, in the living room.
"Oh yeah! I can dance!"
Her sister quickly joined her.
"Oh yeah! Hey, where's the grandfather clock?"
A perma-play adult in a good mood with max mechanical broke it that morning while Maintaining it. What are the odds of that?
With that fun raising activity out of the way I had Serafina drag Ornella into the study to work on her homework.
"Ugh, I hate homework. I thought the great thing about being a teen was I didn't have to do this anymore."
Yeah, well, tough, your Knowledge Sim parents fear you getting a bad report card.
After homework she wandered into the bathroom and for the first time since childhood critiqued (another) towel rack. Immediately I got a pop up. Turns out our little Ornella was an Arts and Crafts nut. So I bought her her own easel and then her own potter's wheel. She went to say 'What's this?' then went back to playing with the wolves. I guess the wolves weren't planning on leaving her alone this evening. For the rest of her teenhood I never could get her to interact with anything arts'n'craftsy autonomously.
"Nice doggy! Er, doggies..."
Not too many days after that Whitlock and Sui followed Serafina and Urshanabi into elder hood.
"Talk about sending them off with a bang!"
Owain was at loose ends so I had him start working on a robot badge, I had plans for him and for the family after this.
"Tinkering isn't half bad!"
Ornella, like so many teens before her, discovered the mirror. Instead of mugging in it though she just spent the time examining her flaws.
"Why don't I have any friends? I wonder..."
Next time: Ornella has a rough time, but makes a new friend, and the family starts a new venture.

Glad you're back, Bitsy. I missed your blog. Please post more often! I know you have a life outside of your sims, but...I don't! When are you going to post about the Windlings again?

It will be coming very shortly, I promise. I'm going to be doing that retrospective and it's requiring a lot of tedious work to get the family tree set up and everyone entered in. There are over 300+ Windlings, you know! The entry is written though, we are just waiting on the family tree at this point. I'm going to do my best to get back into a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule, as that was nice back when work permitted it!

Hey,
I was wondering, somewhere on your blog there was a part about ghosts.
Something about putting them in the basement, putting their bed next to their urn, ...
Do you remember where, because I can't seem to find that part again !
Is there maybe a search-function on this blog ?
