The Chapin *Fixed*

Filed under Downloads > 1920s Homes on February 01, 2008

Wow, I have not built a house in a long time. Over the holiday's break I started this one on my husband's laptop, during the evenings and, I have to say, I love how it has turned out.

The Chapin started out as a simple log cabin affair and turned into an experiment in landscaping that turned out wonderfully. The house is a four bedroom, four bathroom home with a private kitchen, extensive garden and orchard and beautiful man made lake. The house, while originally intended as a small three bedroom has been transformed to accommodate a full eight Sims, in very close quarters, as one would expect in a hunting cabin. This is because I fell so in love with the house that I've decided it is going to be the Windling family vacation home.

As always I've packed the house with goodies and pressies because I enjoy doing so. Photographs hang on the wall of the home and surrounding grounds, aspiration rewards room is tucked into the basement and already full, garden and orchard come fully loaded and pre-rewarded, etc. Also, since I kinda took away foundation space to tuck necessities into such as the Lot Debugger, Clothing Tool, etc. I built a tiny little attic and pre-loaded it with goodies for you. Also, since I didn't really plan well ways for you to build all the skills on the lot I took care of that as well.

The Chapin

My biggest new perk is pre-set camera angles. Just hit numbers 4-9 to have good vantage points for playing all of the main areas of the lot.

4 - Orchard and Garden
5 - Pond and Cook-Out Area
6 - Camping Area
7 - Basement
8 - First Floor
9 - Second Floor

Fixes
And, how to fix them yourself if you don't want to re-download.

-Coffe Tables downstairs used for bringing in bills and newspapers, and are then nearly inpossible to click on or find. Place decorative bowls on the coffe tables under the ones that hold the lamps on either side of the television.
-Mahjong table has two inaccessible seats and the third causes Sims to get stuck after standing up. Move the table and the rug under it one square to the left when viewed from camera angle 7.
-Shower in basement inaccessible. Move or delete the towel rack next to the shower.
-Sims serving food serve three times at the center of the dining room table. Turn on moveobjects and seperate the four tables that make up the dining room table. Use the dropper tool and click on the candles. Place them on two other tables where they will overlap in the center so that only one table will have a clear spot in the middle. Reassemble into one three square table. Turn off moveobjects.

Looks great! I assume it's playable without all the extra mods? because I'm too lazy to go check them out, but loove the chapin. :D

Oh, yes, it's perfectly playable, no worries. These are just fixes and such that prevent lag or fix bugs that would have been in the game anyway no matter what lot you were playing. :D

For example, two of the hacks cut down on sprinkler animations and bug animations which speeds up play immensely on my sprinkler and bug heavy lot. So I thought I would link them for people that might not want to deal with all the lag.

Seriously, Bitsy, that house is amazing. You never cease to amaze me. Did you even have a house plan for that? That's just amazing! Amazing! ((I suggest you count how many times I have typed 'amazing' in this comment xD))

That is a gorgeous home! You did an amazing job on the outside as well as the inside! It looks like a real log cabin! I love it!
