Dylan Windling Gets a Top Level Business
Time passed and with only three kids in the house I was going to start to get the place ready for the next generation. In the mean time the younger set of twins, Epona and Erato became teens. For Epona I rolled Fortune, and for Erato I rolled Romance. Once more I only took one picture of one of the twins for some reason. So I have this, okay? Two of this.
"It's all about the love."
With the house suitably empty enough to start moving folks through I headed back to play college some more. Cerebrus still had siblings in college that needed to graduate! When I booted up the lot I realized that I had forgotten something.
"We forgot to take Vidya on an official FUN outing!"
Yes, we did Valora. So when I pledged in her twin sister Verdandi I went ahead and had them go on a double outing to this gorgeous lot with a huge open air roof top restaurant. Unfortunately I timed it badly. As soon as the lot loaded the sun set, so all my bright outdoor picture plans had to be tossed. So this is the only picture you get.
"It's dark and cold and people keep stealing my food. Can we go now?"
Next up, the last day of fall.
FUN Greek House: on the left is Verdandi, next to her from back to front are Cael, Valene and Chloe, next to them from back to front are Dylan, Valora and Damon, next to them on the right is Vidya.
Time passed and Damon rerolled from Family to Romance. Which put him out of the running for heirship. So, finally the first bloodline, seventh generation heir has been decided on, Dylan! And, of course, he re-rolled to Popularity with a LTW to Have 5 Top Level Businesses. Oh, yes he did. The little brat! Ah, well, this is a legacy challenge.
So, next up was the relatively easy part. I chose his wife. A gardener by the name of Parthenia Lane. She's pretty, with a nice little nose that I'm hoping will off set his. She's a Knowledge Sim, and is an NPC that isn't in the bloodline yet. Perfect!
"So, will §100 do it for ya?"
Next I had him open his first business. There was roughly §300,000 in Greek House funds so I had him purchase the clothing store that came with OFB and renovate it into a bar, with a pool table, poker tables, bubble blower, hot tubs, dance spheres and a full set of instruments and karaoke machine on the second floor.
His method for wracking up customer loyalty stars for his venue? By making friends with them. As soon as he convinced them to stay I have him invite them to join him on a conveniently placed love seat and chat away the hours. It kept his asp up working on his friend base, while at the same time racked up plenty of stars for the business.
Who tended the bar during all of this? Why, Dylan's half sister Valene, of course! She was in perma-plat and made the perfect tag along bartender.
"Does that lady with the camera follow you everywhere?' "Yes."
During one of his friend making runs a guy walked onto the lot and bought a ticket without spending any time to consider it. Then he whipped out a notepad.
"Beer. Check. Women. Check."
He was elusive but I had Dylan start working on his relationship with the reporter right away. Once the reporter left I had Dylan go around and start some games of poker and invite people to join, to try and get the business suitably busy.
"Fine, Atlas, you can deal, but try and concentrate this time! No more rambling gossip about family members we don't even know!"
Another way I had Dylan earn stars was by inviting over his wife to be and asking her on dates. They also worked as a great aspiration boost to keep him in Platinum during this days long escapade to Dylan's Bar.
"Don't even worry about all those other patrons in the bar. It's just you and me."
When he had made a suitable amount of friends I had him start working on making best friends, with the help of wearing those hilarious Cool Shades. It was in the middle of one of these embarrassing moments that the reporter cornered him to give him a best of the best award.
"Way to go, Dylan's Bar is number one! Nice shades, by the way."
Meanwhile it was situation normal at the bar, and this group here finally gave me, er I mean Dylan, the last star he needed to get a top level business.
"This place is pretty cool, you can lose all sorts of money here and get drunk afterwards to forget about it. Definitely the number one place in town, to me!"
Once the place was top level I went over to Valkyrie's apartment. I was going to have her be manager, but first she needed to earn some badges. I got everyone else on the lot jobs, locked the doors to the apartments to be gender specific. Then let them be autonomous until midnight when I would take care of their needs and tuck them into bed. Oh, and I'd wake them up at the pop up to give them an hour to take care of themselves before work in the morning too. It was a nice fun diversion.
"So, then I said, pair of twos? You have got to be kidding me! How about a seven high straight! But, then Ramin pulled out a royal flush and I felt all kinds of stupid. That reminds me, can I have §100?"
Back at the bar I had Dylan go on one more date, so that he was in platinum.
"I don't know, Parthenia, it would be a shame to waste this semi-private courtyard..."
Meanwhile inside Maia was in some dire straights at the poker tables.
"Can you believe that she actually bid a necklace once she ran out of money? Bet she regrets that bid now! I'm sure Jan will appreciate her new jewelry!"
Then I had Dylan open up another, identical, bar. Except I changed the color of the carpet. For sanity reasons.
"Welcome to the grand opening of Dylan's Other Bar!"
Before I got too far into the new bar though I sent Dylan and Valene home so I could work on other stuff. Once he got home Parthenia started dropping by like crazy dropping off flowers and gifts and love letters. It was crazy. And, because it was snowing outside, she always would sneak through the house. Here she waves as she passes her beau and his friends blowing bubbles in the main hall.
"Don't mind me, just left another ridiculously expensive gift on the front porch for you!"
By that point Cupid, Cael and Chloe had all graduated, so I switched back to the main lot. Cupid and Chloe I had place elixer bottles and then move on out. Cael I decided to let stick around a little while he worked on earning §100,000.
"See you later, bro."
"Ok, you guys seriously need to give me my computer back now."
And now, to end the update, a dance duet by Epona and Erato. I told one to dance and then had the other dance about an hour later and they both danced in synch for several minutes. So I made a little photoshoot out of it.
