The Hillside Redux
I am so stoked that I finally get to share this house with you all. It's been in the works for quite a while now and is a house I built for one of my largest families in game (not counting the orphanges, of course). This is one house that I honestly think I would be comfortable playing as a legacy house and it is also a home that is very well suited for people that let their Sims be autonomous, as I did in the one Sim year test run I gave it. It is a five bedroom, seven bathroom home with two stories and a full finished basement, which was the toughest part for me to build as I couldn't decide on what to put down there, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
As far as autonomoty is concerned I loved that aspect of the house. Even though there were only three bathrooms on the floor with the bedrooms the children who couldn't get to a bathroom first to shower/bathe would go and play in the play room and then as soon as the bathroom freed up, went to take advantage of it. Even though there is a sink in the bathroom off the dining room Sims still chose to use the sinks in the kitchen to wash dishes, save for a few occasions where I was never able to pin down what changed. Also, if you want the kids to play outside all day, it's pretty easy. Direct them to run over near the water wiggler. Every Saturday I played I did that and they autonomosly played in the sprinkler, in the pool, on the swings or with each other all day. Tip: In the winter, stow the water wiggler in someone's inventory, and just direct the kids to make snowmen or something in that field instead, the kids will play with the water wiggler, even in the snow, and freeze their buns off doing it! Silly Sims.
To let you know a little about the family that lives there in my game. The Hillside is lived in by Suzie, one of the adopted kids from the seventh generation of the first Windling dynasty, and her husband Gerald (actually his name was Gary but for the blog I changed it to Gerald to avoid confusion as there were quite a few Gary's back in the day). They got married and had quadruplets and then I had her get pregnant again right away and have twins. (All of this using the quads and triplets hack at MATY.) It was very challenging and totally cheating, but loads of fun anyway. The boys' names are Alexander, Joseph, Samuel, William, Justin and Matthew.
Suzie has become a stay at home mother since the boys are all now children. In her spare time while her husband is at work and the kids are at school she experiments in photography and painting. Her painting isn't much, but her photo skills are decent and she has taken portraits of all of her children and herself and her husband and has hung them in the entrance hall. Gerald on the other hand has quit his job in the military and started to work in the field of law, in the hopes of making a difference in the world, and bring in money doing it.
The boys, of course, are all troublesome and bratty, save for the oldest and the youngest they all make evil snowmen and enjoying using the kitchen and bathroom rugs to shock people, throw water balloons at each other at the worst times and in the worst places, are unecessarily rough with the bowling balls and have been known to kick each other while playing cops and robbers or punch too hard in punch-you-you-punch-me. Frankly, I'm glad I'm done play testing this house! Though the youngest has grown on me a great deal, he was always so sweet! And, the bully/prankster duo William and Justin tried to get me to write a story about them at one point. Who knows, I still might.

Minor Lot Annoyances
-Sims will play in Water Wiggler in winter unless it is placed in an inventory.
-Sims will sometimes wash dishes in bathroom sink, not kitchen sinks.
-The very back of the lot is not level and so no other lots can be placed along the back of this lot. You will also need to place a blank lot over the place where this lot used to be to level it again if you remove it.
The family is not included. Please let me know if there are any problems with this lot.

Hi
Loved your Hillside Redux download; I can't get my Sims to bowl in the cellar; don't know if they are confused by the mirrors but if I move the bowling alley to outside they love it. Not sure what will happen to it when winter comes! Andrew

Thanks so much for the heads up on that, Andrew! Apparently I play tested and then decorated the bowling alley, whoops. So, here's what you need to do to make it playable again: sell the plant in the corner next to the bowling ball stand. Then they should be able to play in the basement again. I'm going to fix that and reupload the house momentarily. Thanks again for pointing that out!

The upload is now fixed. You can bowl in the basement again. I also fixed a broken sprinkler that was out front for you all. Sorry about that.
