Owain Windling Throws a Birthday Party
So, now my second bloodline's third generation heir Owain and his wife Adriana had ten children: Ishtar, Iago, Othello, Opal, Demetrius, Aeneas, Aeolus, Ajax, Achilles and Amalthea! Whew! The oldest five were off at college, while the youngest five were busy working on scholarships, except for baby Amalthea, she didn't do anything but cry and sleep. And, of course, we start this entry with a Saturday! So here is this weeks family portrait:

Soon after that picture was taken it was time for five Windlings in the household to age transition. Since I figured, what were the chances of five Sims all having a birthday at the same time every happening again, I had Owain throw a birthday party. I didn't have much experience with birthday parties. Those of you that do just groaned, didn't you?
"Wow! Five birthday cakes! I bet this won't take long at all!"
First to blow out his candles was toddler Achilles looking to become a child. I will post all of the after pictures at the end as they didn't look all that great until I got them to a dresser and a mirror.
"Mommy, make all the scary people go away first."
Next Aeolus blew out his candles looking to become a teen.
"I. Will. Never. Blink. Othello!"
Then baby Amalthea was ready to become a toddler.
"I'll just blow out the candles for you, okay honey?"
This one does get an after image because I caught them in this pose just as the video ended. Aw!
"Thank you, mommy."
And, finally, Owain and Adriana blew out their candles and became elders.
"I wish my husband wouldn't toot that annoying horn in my face."
The party was a disaster, of course. Parties last five hours, and it took five hours to have each Sim grow up, what with the gathering to make noise, rearranging to cheer, the video, and the susbsequent distruction of the cake, then needing to herd them to the next cake to do it all over again. There was no time to build any sort of relationships at all. But I did get to see the Birthday videos for transitioning to toddler, child, teen and elder. That was pretty cool, and almost worth it.
"Yeah, almost."

After all that, Aeneas finally managed to earn his final scholarship and was out the door to college.
"Finally, I can leave this lame birthday party throwing nut house behind me."
Off at college I played the Greek House a bit to make room in the dorm for more Windlings. At the Greek house I pledged Iago.

I wasn't long before Amalthea was out of the nursery all together. It's funny how the family that had ten children had fewer children in the nursery this generation then the other bloodline did.
"Alright. Where's the skills room?"
And, of course, now that everyone was out of the one safe place in the house the ghosts came out to play. Here Gawain managed to haunt the kitchen microwave just as a whole group of people were trouping through. Amalthea and Achilles immediately starting blowing bubbles where they were and Owain pulled a tray of food out of mid air.
"What the...?"
Points Earned: Half a point in scholarships by Aeneas.
