Owain Windling Adopts Children
After Owain and Adriana officially tied the knot it was time for them to get started on those ten children. I started as I usually do, and over the next five days adopted a full grown child a day. Makes it quick and easy to get the first five out of the way. Owain had already made the call for the first child so now I was just waiting until 10AM the next day for the kid to show up.

"In the mean time we have to clean up from the train wreck of a wedding party we had the night before."
That night Alon started to haunt. He spent some time weeping in the living room to mourn his death.

"I can't believe I died in a flooded room all alone!"
Then he went to check the refrigerator for some food, but was sorely disappointed. This just proved that he was cracked because there was plenty of food in there, but in his ghostly delirium he couldn't see it.

"Empty... again."
The next morning child number one finally showed up. It was a very cute little girl named Ishtar.

"Wow! A new daddy to call my own!"
Here she is after I changed into her into fourth generation's signature color, green.

"Wow, new parents, new clothes, new mansion! What's the catch?"
After Ishtar showed up I had Owain pick up the phone to adopt a second child. That was the catch.

"Wow, isn't this place a little quiet? All this room and nobody in it!"
The next day a little boy named Iago showed up.

"I hope I don't get lost in here, this place is huge!"
The day after that another little boy was adopted named Othello.

"Do I have to have a zombie be my teacher? He's just so icky. Does he have any brains left?"
That day Ishtar brought home an A+ report card. The only parent around to appreciate it was Adriana and she was pretty worn out from staying up most of the previous night helping Iago with his skill based scholarships.

"If it's not one child, it's another."
The day after that another little girl was adopted, named Opal. You may not recognize her yet but I have a very soft spot for Opal, she is featured twice in the rotating banner on this site, she is featured in my current avatar/signature set on boolprop and is also the star of her very own desktop wallpaper.

"What? No dandelions to blow?"
And, finally, the last child to be adopted was a little boy named Demetrius.

"At least I have a big family to go with the big house!"
After that another Saturday rolled around. The first for second bloodline.

Fourth generation, second bloodline: In the back row from left to right are Owain, Adriana, Demetrius and Mercury. In the front row from left to right are Opal, Ishtar, Othello and Iago.
Here Ishtar and the rest of her siblings engage in the age old Windling tradition of bubble blowing to raise fun after school.

"Wow, it almost makes you feel like you're floating."
Normally after a good round of bubble blowing I send them into the dining room to have some chili con carne before bathroom and bed. They wake back up and are ready to do homework and skill within a few hours. This schedule doesn't work when the stove bursts into flame from an inept cook.

"Ack! Back evil flames! Back!"
Of course in the middle of cleaning up after that fiasco Othello comes running in to celebrate his first A+.

"Not now, Othello, daddy has melted the pot onto the grate again."
With so many kids on hand to keep track of, plus to orchestrate skilling schedules around with only three adults available, often times they were sent to school with out the greatest needs. It wasn't helped by having the severe need hit of public school. I decided to do something about that.

"Oh, God, not this nuthouse again."
And, since I don't think I've ever posted a pic of it before, here is the children's wing of Windling Gables for those of you curious about where I stick all these kids. A single bedroom with enough beds for six kids. In fact the whole house is situated for a max of six kids. I must have forgotten about Mercury when I built the house. Random adults that stay at Windling Gables also shack up in the children's wing. I also have three private bedrooms, one that used to be for the heir and his spouse that became the vampire room. Plus two small bedrooms, one has become the room for the heir and their spouse while the other is for Romance Sims, unfaithful spouses (should the situation arise) and the heir and spouse from the alternate bloodline should that situation ever arise.

"Zzz..."
It wasn't long before eight days had passed and it was time for Ishtar to become a teen. It was also time to get her to finish up the skill scholarships and work on picking up the others, quick! Oh, and I rolled Fortune.

"With all of this green everywhere, how could I be anything else?"
Meanwhile the rest of the children still pulled late nights working on what few skill based scholarships they could manage before becoming teens. I normally called them off at 4AM to eat breakfast and try to get some sleep before school started.

"Chili con carne and pancakes, do we ever get anything else?"
The very first day of school as a teen saw Ishtar finally bringing a friend home from school, Pan Windling, of course.

"Huh, this place doesn't change much from one generation to the next, does it?"

Coolness. ^-^ Where'd you get Ishtar's hair, it's so pretty on a girl! (I have the male OFB one). When I saw the picture, I thought she was a boy. :' Oops. But she turned out nice. I recogzized Opal, she looks really pretty in the banner.
