Little Miss Sunshine: Alithiel Iirlanth

Filed under Competitions > BoolProp on June 14, 2007

Round 6 Judgings

I Won!

This is the most recent contest I have entered which started in January of 2007. This time I vowed to myself I would try my best to concentrate on artistic merit as well as the beauty of my Sim, and to have a beauty to work with to begin with. So, I went into CAS and created an elf that I named Alithiel, and this entry will log the progress of this contest.

Also if you are wondering where the story line came from it's pretty much a classic story of faerie and is pretty much the story line of every urban fantasy novel out there. It's a bit like War of the Flowers meets the Bordertown series meets just about every novel by Charles DeLint, or at least it will be by the time I'm done with it.

Update: Now that I'm in later rounds I've started throwing in some classic fantasy references as well such as Tolkein, Shakespeare, etc. I've also referenced a few other modern novels such as the Xanth series and work by Terri Windling. I just consider this one long fan piece dedicated to elven fantasy. I'm trying to watch myself though. I don't want to get too carried away and get eliminated for going out on too far of a tangent.

If this entry ever pops up to the top of the page again it means I have updated with either my entry for the next round or the judges ruling on a previous one, scroll to the bottom to find those pictures and rulings.

SCORING
The Judges will be scoring on multiple aspects of your entry.
1. Creativity :: Would we have thought of this answer?
2. Photography skills :: This doesn't necessarily mean "are your pictures clear or blurry? This means creativity in angles, poses, etc., however we would like to see as clear a photo as you can get.
3. Originality :: I realize this can tie into "Creativity," but what we're looking for here is if you're being generic and predictable. Don't be afraid to spice things up!
4. Word fluency :: Yes, it reminds me of school too. This category focuses on how well we can follow your storyline and how believablt your character is.
5. Following the instructions :: This may be the most important one of all! For the future rounds I'm trying to allow as much freedom as possible, but we want to know if you're comprehending and following us, too. No tangents
TOTAL :: 25 POINTS
PLUS :: Comments! :: I'm assuming everyone is going to want to know where they stand in the rounds, so this is a place for the judges to leave their comments on what was good, what was not so good, and how you can improve.

My name is Tylesh Iirlanth and I'm Alithiel's uncle. After the devestation of the War I knew it was past time to leave Faerie and the forest of NeverNever. My neice never really knew her parents as they were too heavily involved in politics to visit much. So she just stayed with me here in the forest. When they died she tried to hide her tears from me, but I knew. She's a brave girl, my Alithiel.

I think I might have pushed things though when I told her it was time to leave the forest. She put on a brave face, but I knew she was in love with NeverNever and as much of an adventure as the Borderlands offered, it would never be the same as the wonder of the forest. At that moment I knew that Alithiel was upset with me for making her leave, I just hoped she could realize that I was really doing this for her own good.

Bordertown was a bit of a shock, for all of us. It was the first time Relkaea and I had ever seen technology such as TVs and radios and motorcycles, though we had heard of some of it. For little Alithiel it was the first time she had ever seen a building, in NeverNever there was no need, but here the weather changes so rapidly and the people are not always as kind as the elves back home, so people create these constructs to protect themselves and provide shelter.

Relkaea was brilliant with Alithiel though it all and really smoothed the way. She was the one that got her involved in this wonderful beauty competition to learn about and appreciate humans and the world of the Real. When Alithiel went out on our balcony the first thing she noticed was, "There's no plants, no grass, no trees..." Relkaea stepped up and started showing her the hidden beauty that can be found in a city. When I started to see that look of wonder appear on Alithiel's face, I knew that Relkaea had gotten through to her. I'm glad those two are becoming so close.

I thought everything was going fine. We had settled into our apartment and Alithiel had begun to make friends with the local children. How wrong I was. I found her one day curled up in a closet crying.* My poor, brave Alithiel. She wanted to go home. War was brewing though, and I knew it wouldn't be safe.

She couldn't return to the magical forest of NeverNever, but we could create some of our own magic for her. Relkaea and I play instruments that weave magical spells in the forest. Here in Bordertown they work only when the wind is right. We were blessed that day. Relkaea and I took Alithiel up to the roof of our apartment and preformed for hours while she danced, feeling the rhythym with her feet and running her fingers through the magic in the air. I think this is easily her favorite thing about being an Iirlanth, only our family could every rend magic from music so effortlessly.

She seemed much more at peace after that, but I could still see that she missed the forest. Together with a few local elves and humans we started to work on a little suprise for her. Combining technology and magic we created an enviroment that would be stable even in the uncertain waters of the Borderlands. We could not take Alithiel back to the forest, but we could bring some of the forest to her.

Even Alithiel could not believe it, not until she had seen it. Bushes and grass and trees from the world of the Faerie combined with lighting and fertilizer and sprinkler systems from the world of the Real. Alithiel kept saying over and over, "I can't believe it... I just can't believe it!" But there it was. On the border where magic and technology meet, anything is possible.

*I know that when I was little I would light candles in my closet and cry when I was upset, I knew other little girls that did this too. This doesn't make it a good idea! Asphyxiation and fire hazards are bad, m'kay? Don't try this at home! No little girls, elven or other wise, were harmed in the taking of this picture, merely boolproped.

Our lives changed forever the day Alithiel found Calle. Alithiel was helping me clean the apartment and I had sent her to take out the trash. I didn't know at the the time that our trash can was doubling as a hiding place for a scared young girl, a halfie named Calle.

Halfies are beings that are half elf and half human. One of the reasons the Veil fell was because the Council was concerned over the fact that more and more elves could not have children of their own. It's why Tylesh and myself remain childless. The decision proved to be a good one as it was discovered in Bordertown that while elves still had problems having children with other elves, they could have children with humans without difficulty. Unfortunately these halfies are not very well treated as some elves are of the opinion that halfies are low class beings due to their hybrid nature. They are poorly treated by those elves, the young ones especially, hence the reason that when Calle saw Alithiel coming the poor thing ran and hid.

My Choice

Alithiel though, showing some true Iirlanth spirit, managed to convince Calle that she meant no harm. She had been raised by us to treat everyone with kindness and respect. Using some of her rather tenacious enthusiasm for adventure which I've always found to be infectious she convinced the girl to follow her and before the poor girl knew it, Alithiel had brought her inside and was showing off her forest room. Calle seemed suitably impressed but she was really won over when Alithiel showed her a book that her uncle had gotten her for her twelfth birthday. Something called Lord of the Rings that is three books in one. The two girls spent quite a lot of time giggling over the book which apparently is a story that includes a human concept of elves. There were even some "movie" pictures in the back, whatever that means, that really set the girls off. Apparently there was a blonde elf in the book that is quite "cute".

In Action

Calle is a dear, sweet child and if it wasn't for Alithiel we would never have known about the very real plight of halfies here in Bordertown. Her human mother had been having problems finding housing for herself and her daughter because of her child's heritage. So what Alithiel started, we continued. We helped Calle and her mother find a place to stay right here in our apartment complex. Tylesh even got inspired and began writing songs to help raise awareness about the unfair treatment of halfies.

Not everyone agreed with us, of course. Elven children still gave Calle a hard time whenever they came upon her. Fortunately Alithiel was usually there by her side. She considers Calle as a sister and so is set on helping and defending her no matter the cost. Why just the other day Alithiel and Calle had taken a walk down to the River of Madness to take in the sights only to meet up with a gang of River Rats.

Full Body

I'm still not sure if it was Alithiel's impassioned defense of Calle, Calle's strong right hook or the fact that, unlike an elf or a human, Calle could walk right up to the river and touch it with out falling into a deep sleep like an elf would or going mad like a human would... either way the River Rats were suitably humbled and they backed down and left Calle alone after that.

Close Up

What Alithiel did the day she took out the trash might not be considered all that spectacular. She made a new friend, raised awareness of a truth most of us don't like to think about, put things in motion that helped a few people in a big way and helped change the minds of a few unruly River Rats. But, while it may not have made a huge difference in the grand scheme of things, Alithiel did make a difference in one little girl's life. To Calle she made all the difference in the world.

Uncle Tylesh says that I've become quite the young lady. It's been a long time since we left the forests of NeverNever. Now we are going back, but just to the outskirts, and only for a little while. It is safe, for now, and Aunt Relkaea says this might be my only chance to learn how to do magic properly.

Freestyle

Uncle Tylesh is going to teach me everything he knows he said. How exciting! This is going to be like a whole new adventure. It looks really hard though. He stood there quietly for a little bit and then raised his arms and blue and purple clouds began to swirl around him with balls of white light dancing all through them. It looked amazing and terrifying and wonderful all at once.

The Classroom

I tried and I tried but I could not summon my magic. I was worried that maybe I didn't have any. But, Uncle Tylesh says it's really hard the first few times and that I just needed a break. So I wandered off into the forest a ways and pretended to be an explorer on an adventure just like I used to when I grew up here. That's when I found the fox. He was really small, and looked kinda scared. I was kinda scared too, I thought he might bite me when he stretched his snout towards me, but he just licked my hand, and I jerked back in suprise!

Freestyle

That's when I realized that the fox was stuck. His little front paw was wedged tight between the boulders and I wasn't strong enough to lift them. I wanted to run and fetch my uncle, but I didn't want to leave the little guy all alone. After thinking about it for a bit, looking at this poor little fox that was starting to whine a bit and kept tugging on his poor little paw, I decided I would try to use my magic. I didn't have a really, really good reason before, but now I did. Maybe, that's what it takes. So I closed my eyes and I concentrated. I felt this woosh of amazing, terrifying, wonderful power go through me and I opened my eyes to see balls of white light dancing through blue and purple clouds that were swirling around me. Then, it happened...

Close Up

I think I overdid it. At least the fox is okay, he looked a little spooked, but he didn't have a scratch on him. I managed to finally do magic! It was the most amazingest, terrifyingest, wondefulest thing ever! I can't wait to do it again, though I have a feeling I have a long way to go, especially if everytime I do magic I'm going to end up leaving craters everywhere. I bet my aunt and uncle won't appreciate that.

Full Body

I told the fox that he could leave and find his family now and went back to try and find mine, but the little fox followed me. I tried to run faster and faster, but he easily kept up with me, even though he was very little. I think he likes me. He followed me all the way back to the edge of the forest where my Uncle Tylesh was waiting for me. I think I will ask if I can maybe keep him. My family is used to me picking up friends where ever I go. I even already have a name picked out for the little guy, he's so fast and so quick, I think I'm going to name him Swift!

Needless to say my uncle and aunt were less then pleased with my attempts at magic, since they usually resulted in large holes in the ground and big messes that needed cleaning up. The temperamental streams of magic that were felt in Bordertown were not helping me master my magic either. Finally my aunt Relkaea asked around and found a Guide for me. Guides are really old elves that take on students and help them learn to control and master their magic.

My Guide lived out in the country, not quite Bordertown, but not quite my beloved NeverNever either. It was full of life though with lots of plants and trees, lots of animals and fresh air, and lots and lots of work to do. At least I had Swift there with me to help, though he did more running around and chasing butterflies then help, really.

Full Body

My Guide's name is Errala. She is an elder elf who left the forest of NeverNever to live where the worlds of the Faerie and the Real meet. She says it makes her potions more potent. Eralla also has a pet cat named Telerin, though Eralla says he's less of a pet and more of a surveyor that allows Eralla to live on the farm.

Eralla took me under her wing and told me the best way to learn how to focus one's magic was to learn how to focus one's mind first. Apparently that means you have to sweep the paths, beat the rugs, weed the garden, and of course help harvest the fruits and vegetables for Errala's potions and poultices. I don't know if it helps me focus, but it certainly makes me tired enough to go straight to sleep at night.

Mentor

I go to work for my Guide three times a week for most of the day, but today Errala said she had a surprise for me. I had been working so hard for her and doing so well she wanted me to have a bit of a treat. Imagine my surprise when I looked over my shoulder to find Calle standing there! My Guide says that, while Calle did not have enough magic to focus it into a spell, she still had other gifts worth cultivating. But first, we could take a break!

Close Up

Calle and I headed to the barn to lay on the straw and swap stories about Eralla and the things she was teaching us. When Telerin came in Calle got a sly smile on her face and reached into her pocket. She pulled out some green stuff that looked and smelled kind of funny. Telerin took an immediate interest in what she had in her hand and came over and sniffed at where Calle had poured some out on the ground. It was catnip! When I asked Calle where she got it she just smiled and said something about gifts worth cultivating. Before I knew it Telerin started acting really weird and went from the stern stuffy cat he had been before to a goofy hyper cat that had Calle and I in fits we were laughing so hard. I don't think this is what Errala had in mind when she told us to take a break!

Freestyle

No, it was definitely not what Errala had in mind. So she said it was time to move on to work that was a little more challenging. She pointed to one of the huge wheels of straw out in the field and said I was to take it into the barn. How was I supposed to do that, it was nearly twice as tall as I was! She said she thought it was time for me to practice my magic.

Freestyle

When I summoned my magic this time the clouds of blue and pink seemed much more centered around me. Instead of getting swept away in the amazing, terrifying, wonderful feelings I grabbed hold of them and focused them on that wheel of hay. Hard.

Freestyle

Um, too hard. Once Calle shook the hay off she started to laugh at me. Swift soon poked his nose out from where he was covered in hay too. My Guide hadn't moved, but I could see her lips twitching. There may not have been a crater this time, which is an improvement, but it still looks like I have a lot more focusing to do. Eralla went and fetched me a rake.

When Aunt Relkaea told me we would be spending the last month of summer in a distant land I thought it would be the best adventure yet! She said it would be a suprise so no matter how many times or how many different ways I tried to ask my aunt and uncle where we were going they always just smiled and shook their head. I figured we would journey for days on end, maybe even to the other side of the world of the Real! I thought we'd get to put our hair in cool 'dos and wear pure white clothing and participate in special rituals of a foreign land. How cool would that be?

Family Shot

Yeah. That didn't happen. It still turned out to be an amazing adventure! What my aunt and uncle didn't tell me was the path back to the world of the Faerie was now safe. The War had ended. They wanted to suprise me and take me back home for a whole month to celebrate the Time of Change from summer to fall. A very sacred time for our people. It was amazing! We arrived at the Sacred Grotto, located just to the other side of the forest of NeverNever, right when the festivities were about to start. The Grotto is a series of stone walls and columns from the days when man walked freely among the elves that is now open to the air and the sun and the elves.

Close Up

It took several days to get there and after that last long days hike I was thirsty! While my aunt and uncle went to greet old friends I snuck over to a fountain that had beautiful cascades of clear, sparkling water and extended my cupped hand for a drink. After taking several mouthfuls I saw my uncle start to look for me. When he came over he looked at the fountain and then back at me kinda worried. He asked me if I had touched the water. When I shook my head no, he said good because the water here in the Sacred Grotto does funny things to people. Uh-oh. I hope I don't get in trouble! I was just so thirsty!

Freestyle

While the adults talked, the kids were gathering around the brush fire. It had been so long since I had been around so many of my kind I was eager to join them. Imagine my suprise when I saw a boy with very light blonde hair! Normally my people have hair that is shades of red. I don't care what color people's hair is normally, but this boy's was so very different. It almost seemed to shimmer in the sunlight, like spun gold. I think I stared at his hair for too long because he got huffy and stomped over to me and asked me if I had a problem. I said no, but he was so touchy about his hair that he seemed to think my no might as well have been a yes. To the delight of all the other kids he challenged me to a Duel. A duel of magic. I'd only read about Duels, I'd certaintly never been in one! But, I wasn't about to let the name Iirlanth down!

Full Body

We squared off against each other on the far side of the Grotto where we were sure the adults wouldn't find us. I took a deep breath and tried my best to relax and focus just like Eralla taught me to. I glared at this boy, whose name I didn't even know! Why did he have to start things like this? I didn't mean anything by it when I looked at his stupid hair! I closed my eyes and gathered my magic to me... and that's when everything went pear shaped.

A loud KA-BOOM went off and all of a sudden jolts of magic started going through me in short bursts. It flowed out of my arms in the form of bolts of electicity that were blue and green, I wasn't the only one having problems, the boy's magic also was flowing out of him the same way. When it locked onto mine it created a never ending flow, Calle would have called it a circuit. Our magic flowed back and forth between us in circles of electricity whose sound became higher and higher pitched as it went. I thought I heard my aunt behind me gasp and my uncle Tylesh shout. Then I blacked out.

Freestyle

When I came to, it was to find out that the boy and I were the talk of the Grotto. Apparently I wasn't the only one who had snuck a drink at one of those beautiful fountains, the boy had too! The elders said they were suprised I had maintained control of so much magic for so long and were impressed when they heard I was being taught by Eralla. They said I still had a lot to learn, and my first lesson was to stay away from the sacred water!

Family Shot

My aunt and uncle said that I was in a lot of trouble. But, that for the duration of the vacation I could stay and celebrate my heritage and hopefully mend bridges with the boy who I had so insulted. Of course, as soon as we got back to Bordertown I was going to be grounded. Big time.

My uncle said he had no idea why I was looking at some boy's hair in the first place. Then my aunt got this sly smile on her face and said she thought she knew. She asked me, didn't that elf from those books I liked so much have blonde hair? What was his name again? Leggless? Oh I was so embarrased. I could see my uncle Tylesh's lips start to twitch and he told me my leaves were burning, then my aunt Relkaea started to giggle. And, I just know some of the other elves heard what they said too! I said I didn't care what color hair that stupid boy had! But, I couldn't be heard over my aunt's and uncle's laughter.

Today was going to be an exciting day. I could feel it. The whole point in competing in Little Miss Sunshine was to meet human girls my age, and while I had written back and forth to several of them I had never left the Borderlands to meet them. Now it turns out I don't need to. They are coming to the Borderlands to meet me! I debated back and forth whether I should warn them that human abilities could be kinda funny when so near the forest of NeverNever and the world of Faerie. Ultimately I decided not to. I guess it's true, all of us elves do have a little bit of a devious streak in us. It was all in good fun though. They'd find out for themselves soon enough!

I was so excited to step out onto my balcony and see all of the girls whose stories I'd read and whose pictures I'd seen! Calle was already down there making friends, as was my pet fox Swift! I was a little worried about the rain clouds that had begun to gather, I didn't want to spend the whole day inside my family's cramped apartment but Daisy ended up taking care of that for us. You see when humans come near the forest they develop what my mentor Eralla calls "talents worth cultivating". It's what she was talking about when she mentioned the abilities that Calle was learning about under her hand. And, it was something she got from her human side not her elven one! When Daisy saw me she got the biggest smile on her face, but before she could take a step towards me, the drizzle from the rain clouds suddenly stopped, and all the rain clouds were chased from the sky. She was so shocked she stopped for a moment and stared. I told them my little secret about Bordertown and Sheba immediately understood what had happened. Apparently Daisy's parents told her once that her smile could make even the most dreary days bright, but I don't think they realized that here on the border between the world of the Faerie and the world of the Real that it could translate literally!

All of the other girls immediately began grinning their heads off trying to chase away the rain clouds, but it was only Daisy's smiles that succeeded. Eralla says that each human has their own ability and while some humans might share one, not all humans had the same one. After I told them that they all wanted to see what they could do here on the edge of Faerie. Some tried skipping, some jumping, others singing, but it wasn't until Gloria pulled out her vial of bubbles that things got interesting. When the air filled with beautiful rainbow bubbles I couldn't help reaching out and touching one. Immediately I felt a tiny burst of happiness inside that made me feel light as air and immediately made me start giggling. Soon all the girls were blowing bubbles but only Gloria's and Georgia's gave a burst of happiness when touched. We had a lot of fun with that, even Swift, and soon we were all in tears we had been giggling and laughing so hard.

Once we had fully recovered we heard a shout and turned to the other side of the street. I ran over there and gasped! Blossom, who I know loves to jump on beds and couches and other springy things had taken to bouncing on a street side bench, which isn't very bouncy at all. But, the momentum caused her to flip mid-air and now she was floating so high up she had to grab on to a streetlight to stay (mostly) grounded! I was shocked! I had never seen anything like it before. She was completely enjoying herself though, experiencing a sensation of flight unlike any other she had ever experienced before. All of the other girls were gathering around and admiring Blossom so high up in the air. But, all I could think about was how we were going to get her back down before my aunt and uncle found out!

We trekked indoors after that. Well, Blossom... floated. Anyway, Aunt Relkaea has some spare paint lying around and had set up some canvases against a wall in my forest room because she knew that there were quite a few painters involved in Little Miss Sunshine. Both Geneva, who lives with an artist, and Sheba perked up right away. But the oddest thing started happening as they began to paint. The canvas began peeling away and slowly formed into petals, long strokes of the brush turned into stalks and twirls turned into small buds. It wasn't long before there was no canvas sitting there at all, but a beautiful flowered plant that I had never seen before, born straight out of Geneva and Sheba's imagination. I asked my aunt if she knew that was going to happen and she just smiled at me and asked me where I thought all the flowers in Bordertown's courtyards came from?

After getting the new addition to my forest room (thanks Geneva and Sheba!) we headed up to the roof and, after a few smiles from Daisy to chase those pesky rain clouds away, we got ready to boogie, Iirlanth style! Alicia, who had been pretty quiet up until that point, shyly went up to my aunt and pointed out the new keyboard and asked if she could play. Of course my aunt said yes! Soon my aunt and uncle and Alicia began to jam. It was the funniest thing, normally when my aunt and uncle play they weave spells with the music, but this time they played normally which gave Alicia a chance to shine. Her fingers upon the keyboard caused this amazing song to come out of the speakers. It made all of us there really want to dance. Here's where the funny part came in. Even though none of us had met before and none of us knew the song, we all knew the dance steps to it! It was like a mix between square dancing, Thriller, and the electric slide. Even though we were dancing perfectly in sync we had no idea what we were doing half the time. That just made it all the more fun!

Those of us that weren't getting down up on the roof were down in the living room. My friend Leah had borrowed one of my elven story books and was so inspired she got out a notebook and began writing a story of her own. Calle told me later that it was the most amazing thing. While she was so inspired everything that she wrote in that story appeared around her. A tree sprouted right there in our living room! Then golden sunlight came down from the ceiling and soon the tree sprouted tiny red apples. When Leah turned around and realized what had happened she was so embarrassed, but Calle said it was one of the coolest and most ethereal examples of human magic she had seen all day.

Calle's brand of magic is a bit different from everyone else's. She couldn't exactly demonstrate it, as, if you've been paying attention, she's been showing what it is all along. Calle has this amazing ability with animals, it's almost like she can talk with them. Calle says that's not quite it though. She says that it's not that she talks to them, but rather that she listens. She can hear what they need, and what they feel and can accommodate them simply by reaching into her pocket. No matter what it is they need or desire just reaching into her pocket causes it to magically appear in the palm of her hand, ready for them. I think that's why Eralla's cat Telerin follows Calle home at the end of the day. I don't think Eralla and Telerin get along too well. Calle says that they really like each other, but that they're both too stubborn!

I think that if I didn't know what Calle's ability was I never would have figured out May Belle's. May Belle is probably the most compassionate girl I have ever met. She is always there when people need her and can seem to tell when other people need a smile, or to hold someone's hand, or just when they need a hug. I think what cinched it was two things, first off when Gloria and Telerin got in a bit of an "altercation" as my uncle calls it, and Gloria got a scratch on her hand, May Belle reached into her pocket and found a band aid there which seemed to surprise her as much as Gloria! Later I realized that she was the only one of us that hadn't bothered trying to help Blossom stop floating. The rest of us thought it great sport chasing her around the apartment and trying to "save" her over and over. But, while my uncle Tylesh kept an eye on Blossom, he said that May Belle had the way of it, there's no point trying to save someone that doesn't want to be saved!

During my time spent with my fellow contestants I have learned a lot of important things, both about humans and about myself. I learned that no matter who you are, or what you do, you too have a magical ability inside you. It might be something small like giving people small bursts of happiness, it might be having a smile so bright it could almost chase rain clouds away. It could be the ability to bring things to life, through art, through music or through writing. It might be something as simple and yet complex as having compassion and understanding for your fellow animals or your fellow humans. Or it could even be something silly, like the ability to fly at will, even if it's only with a trampoline or in your dreams. If I became Little Miss Sunshine I would give back to BoolProp by trying to teach all those humans out there this simple truth. No matter how Real you are, you are still Magical.

I also learned something important about myself. All of these girls, could perform magic effortlessly, even if it was only in a certain way. Why couldn't I? After spending a day with them I think I finally knew. After getting Blossom down from the rafters, and taking everyone outside, I said I had a suprise for them. I got up on top of the platform in the courtyard in front of my apartment and closed my eyes. This time I closed my eyes and not only concentrated, not only focused, but allowed my joy to come to life, joy in my friends new and old. For that's what they each had found in their magic, that I had not. It was joy in doing something that they do best. That joy took hold and came to life. And, for the first time, without craters, without explosions and without jolting electricity, I preformed true magic.

Well, I couldn't let her finish the competition without preforming one single spell right, could I?

Result: I Won!

Ack, I never know what to say at this point! Ok, first off, I am amazed at the talent shown in the other girls entries and am doubly amazed each round that Alithiel managed to make it through. Since, by far, she had the most unbelievable story out of all the girls that I needed to pull off. ChickenSensei and Strangel both pulled off amazing entries in every round and always gave me a healthy amount of worrying to do while waiting on judgings! It was loads of fun participating in this competition and it convinced me that I can write fiction again, so a double plus! I can't believe that after six months this competition is finally over. It is the longest competition I've ever been in and the most challenging, I can certaintly say that. I'm sad that Little Miss Sunshine is now over.

And, because people always seem to be curious how they turn out, Alithiel as a teen:

She's really pretty, I see your also using the Pixie skins by Enalya! I love them, they're so detailed. Did you win? Or is it still going on?

Haven't won, not even sure I will, there are some really pretty girls in this competition! It is still ongoing, this round doesn't end until the 19th and who knows how many there will be after that, or what the judges will think of my girl in this one. Normally I don't make it past the third or fourth round in a competition, but I'm excited about this one. :)

I love Enyala skin tones! I've been thinking (after this legacy story is done) I might do a Royal Kingdom Challenge with Sims wearing the four Pixie skins in place of the four default skin tones.

Bitsy--you're back! Hooray! She is a really cute girl, and Enayla's skins are very nice for RK challenges and otherwise fantasy oriented things. They're so shiny and painting-like. Though the shiny is a bit... er, odd, on males, so I have blushes made to counter that. Here's hoping you win!

Ah this is really cool! I love this contest! Wish I would have heard of it sooner, although I doubt I would even come close to your story and pictures! Very creative story line, I love fantasy stories as well!

Wow, congratulations. She's pretty as a teen. I love all the CC you use, argh, I wish I could find half the stuff you do! Congrats again!

She is lovely. I am NOT into fantasy(though I did love LOTR) but you pulled me in on the first entry and kept me hooked all the way through! Beautiful pictures in color, content and design. FANTASTIC story telling! Thank you so much for sharing this!
