I Won!
This is a competition my husband and I decided to join together. His entries might end up being posted here as well, we'll see what he thinks. We had talked about running a competition similar to this at one point in time, so to see one like it and get to participate is pretty cool.
Don't have much else to say except that, unlike how seriously I am taking Little Miss Sunshine, this one is really just for fun. My husband wanted to see just how hard it was to compete in one of these things, and now that he's on his second day of working on his entry I think he's finally appreciating just how challenging it can be!

Round 1
A New Home (yes there was a Star Wars DVD case next to me)
Please enter ONE photo of a new sim family/single sim/couple/pet/whatever having just moved into their new home. Their reaction does not have to be posetive. Also please give a small explanation about your photo eg "Sally Sim has just moved into her new dorm room and doesn't like her roommate." Entries will be judged on compostion, framing, colour and the capturing of a suitable mood (this means, adherance to the theme). I will determine if this will be an elimination round after seeing contestant numbers. make sure you zoom in enough for us to see the sims reaction you can use the "tab" camera if you wish. If somebody knows a good tutorial for it I will post a link here.
A New Home
My Worst Nightmare
So much for my knight in shining armor. So much for, "It'll be great living away from home, no rules!" So much for him paying his half of the rent, him bothering to do his half of the chores, him being even half the man I've always dreamed of. So much for me going to school and getting the great career, the great husband, the great kids. Instead I'm here, in our third apartment in so many months, avoiding the landlord, working nine to five in a job I hate, while all he does is play his $700 guitar all day and he can't even be bothered to go out and get a job. Yeah. So much for happily ever after.

Comments: I think you also have too much CC, but the story is cool. That guitar is pretty cool, too. Nice pose and use of various objects from the game, I can see you put in a lot of work.

Back to School
Please enter TWO pictures. One interior (inside) one exterior (outside) showing a sim child/teen/young adult on their first day back (or first day ever) at school/college. They can be in any grade of school and can be at any stage of their schooling career (but must be within those age groups.) It does NOT have to be their first day at a new school, thay can be returning to their school and seeing their friends or whatever. You will need a story to link the two pictures and both pictures must focus on the same sim. I'm going to allow custom content to create the set of the school/add uniforms and again as normal on your sims. This competition is about framing and composition however, so don't assume that custom content will give you a free ride. :)

Less a Sister
First day back after the summer break found me in the basement of my school in my favorite room, the dark room. I had some film to develop and I ended up staying after school to work on making a few prints. They were all of my sister, Ravi. She got married at the end of spring and moved away, she came back and visited briefly at the end of summer already heavily pregnant with her first child. I want to be happy for her, I really do, but I miss her and wish she didn't have to move so far away to be with the one she loves.
Mama doesn't approve of the choices Ravi made and things have been so hard with her after Ravi left. She is angry that Ravi married a boy she did not approve of, angry that she moved to a far away city to be with him, angry that she decided to have a baby so young. Mama is being more controlling then ever with me. I know I'm going to get in trouble when I get home, I missed the regular bus and have to wait for the late one. So I stand outside the school with my camera and bag at my feet and wait for the bus to take me back to Mama, back to my home, a home that feels a little emptier now that my sister is gone.

Love Is In The Air
Please enter THREE pictures. AT LEAST one at night (but they can all be at night if you want.) You are to tell a romance story. It can be child teen adult or elder. However you must use the same sim for each picture and the story must take place over a day. You need to link the pictures into a romance story, be it funny, happy, sweet or sad. Originality is good! I'm going to allow custom content to create the sets and again as normal on your sims. This competition is about framing and composition however, so don't assume that custom content will give you a free ride.
Love Is In The Air
Echo & Narcissus
I apologize profusely to die hard mythology buffs everywhere for how badly I'm about to mangle and Simify this beloved myth.
Echo was a beautiful mountain nymph. She was in love with a man named Narcissus who wanted nothing to do with love for others as the only one he loved was himself.
Echo had angered the goddess Hera when she distracted her with several epic and entertaining stories while Hera's husband went off to seduce Echo's fellow nymphs. When Hera learned of this betrayal she took her rage out on Echo by taking away her voice. Echo was cursed and could now only repeat what others said.
Unfortunately her love was completely self involved. The more and more she tried to tell him of her love for him the more and more she failed. He would talk endlessly of his love for himself and his beauty and his looks, which Echo could only helplessly repeat, speaking of love for herself and her beauty and her looks.
She tried to have her actions speak louder then her words but he was often so enrossed in his own reflection in a nearby pool he didn't notice her antics.
Echo ended up wasting away and scattering to the four corners of the earth until only her voice remained, eternally repeating what was said. She died of a broken heart because she could never tell her love how she truly felt. He could never love someone other then himself so all she could echo to him was, "I love me" she could never tell him, "I love you."

Celebration
You've all made it to the final so it's time to celebrate! Please enter FIVE pictures. They must tell the story of ANY kind of celebration/praty/happy event. The story must center around the same sim or group of sims. Custom content is allowed as usual. The event can be a set holiday (eg Christmas) but could also just be a house party or somebody's graduation. Try to be creative in your response and have fun!
Celebration
Party All Night
It's not every day that a girl gets to celebrate her 250th death day. I wanted to keep quiet about the date though, the neighborhood boys think I'm only 100 or so! So to celebrate I invited the girls and some of the new crowd along for an all out celebration of all things vampire at the hottest night club in town. A celebration is a celebration, and all of us girls have our little secrets, right?
They even have a great restaurant in the club. Perfect for a little before dinner snack. No blood on the menu, of course, but it is run by humans, so what can you expect? Besides, it's the after clubbing sport that makes the upcoming dinner all the more appetizing.
Hitting the dance floor is really the best part of going anywhere with the girls. The dance floor lights are the closest thing to sunlight most of us have seen in centuries, and the newer dance beats thrum through you from the soles of your feet to the top of your head and almost feel like a heartbeat. We may be ice to the touch but even a vampire sometimes likes to feel the heat of the moment.
I took a break to grab some ice water. I don't like warming up too much, the only time I like having a flush to my cheeks is after a good meal. But, I couldn't lay low for long. The place had such a great vibe that soon I was up and moving again, this time to check out the newest human contraption the club owned, a dance sphere.
It was definitely something else! The whirling and twisting was almost like how it felt to fly through the night, and the lights and bolts of electricity added that little extra thrill. I soon got too dizzy though and had to end the ride. It was certainly fun while it lasted!
There was a slow down in the music so I headed up to check out the DJ and request some faster beats. As soon as I shouted out my request he fumbled his headphones, dropped the record he was holding and managed to knock the needle off the record that was playing. That's when I recognized him, he was a a new vampire to the area, Horace? Henry? Harvey? I'd guess by his clothes that he was about 100 years younger than I was. Honestly, you haven't seen anything until you've seen a man decked out in Victorian garb attempting to put together a house mix. He was kinda cute actually, for all his fumbling. Perhaps the evening held some promise after all, what's 100 years between close friends? And, I do hope we become very close. Some nights it feels good to be undead.

Result: First Overall - I Won!
The first competition I have ever won! I was really, really, not expecting it at all. The entries in all the rounds were fabulous and the runner up's entry was so sweet. I'm not sure what else to say, I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. Heh.

Wow Bitsy, that picture is awesome. Those decorations are so real, where in the world did you get them? I love ho you used the naturally beat up items, and the Sim' reaction is so real, and priceless. If I was a judge, you'd definitely win, this is awesome!

I love the darkroom stuff! Very original. It's a shame about the first picture only coming 4th... it was a really good picture.
