Padma Cloudkicker Dies by Drowning

Filed under University Legacy Challenge > 3rd Generation on January 16, 2007

Just days after Venus adopted her tenth child I allowed her to finally age gracefully into elderhood. Here you can see her pass the ghost of her mother Amy who was once again causing problems.

University Legacy Challenge

"Looking good in your old age, sweety. I left a little suprise for you in the energizer room."

Amy had scared her grandson Orion, who was just about to enter an energizer, to death. Luckily Venus was there to plead for his life and won the right for Orion to keep living. As soon as he was restored though she made a face like she was not happy with the fact that he had been saved.

University Legacy Challenge

"Ugh! And, you stink to high heaven too!"

After Orion had been brought back to life and then hopped into the energizer to replenish his needs I had Venus fetch the only child that had not begun earning scholarship points, Ptah.

University Legacy Challenge

"We're going to have you skillbuild now, honey. It's, uh, fun!"

Meanwhile, at college, dormies Padma and Lorina were still working on trying to graduate while being members of the Windling Greek House, good old Fruhma Urele Nagard.

University Legacy Challenge

"So, where's the toga parties? The hot guys? The endless fruit juice you can drink straight from the spout?"

Evander, on the other hand, was working on making as many best friends as possible. I was pleased when he met the exotically colored Chandra Goethe, who turned out to be a Knowlede Sim. As soon as possible I had him pledge her into the Greek House.

University Legacy Challenge

"Well, sure! Do you guys have toga parties?"

While Evander was busy chatting up Chandra the remaining members of the Greek House: Elissa, Vulcan, Padma and Lorina sat down to lunch.

University Legacy Challenge

"This is the most boring Greek House... EVER."

After that Evander pledged in two Sims in succession. His cousin Ourania, who by the way is wearing what has to be one of my favorite meshes.

University Legacy Challenge

"Finally! Some peace and quiet. Who knew I'd find it at a Greek House?"

He also pledged in Chandra, who I was basically planning on using for the one point she'd get me for her impossible want and for transferring funds from the Greek House to the main house where it counts for points.

University Legacy Challenge

"So... where's the party at?"

This is pretty much how third generation, first bloodline looked all through college. They were constantly on their cellphones. Elissa to earn those friends for her heir point, and yes I have decided she will be the heir, and Evander working on earning those 30 best friends.

University Legacy Challenge

"Can you hear me now? Good!"

It was so surreal having my two bloodlines in college at the same time, simply because they look so drastically different already!

University Legacy Challenge

"Hey, do you have the answer to number 10?"

One of my strategies for cutting down on serving time is to cancel the interaction to serve while they still have just the platter and then flipping to buy mode and moving it to a counter. Then I just tell whomever is eating to go grab a plate. Less time spent laying all the plates out, which can be doubly annoying when only two or three people are eating, and less time spent cleaning up wasted plates. The only problem is sometimes when several people grab plates in succession or when people are doing homework (which always seems to make Sims believe that the entire table a Sim is working at, or at least a lot more then the spot they are sitting at, is being occupied) then they decide not to use the tables and just stand around the kitchen instead. This does have the added benefit of making even neat Sims eat quickly and for sloppy Sims to eat at light speed.

University Legacy Challenge

"Did I ever tell you my great skiing joke? Three guys walked into bar... no wait, that's not right."

This picture I took after Diana Windling was eliminated from the Next Top Model 2 Competition. She's all back to normal now.

University Legacy Challenge

"But, did you have to give me back my thick eyebrows?"

Not long after that Padma and then Vulcan both graduated from college. Orestes, Belarius, Anubis, Olivia and Orion were all there to see him off. Orion had just recently left for college. I feel bad, because I'm pretty sure I don't even have a picture of him as a teen, he must have slipped through the cracks. I rolled Knowledge for him once he was in college.

University Legacy Challenge

"Wow, normally you all are too busy studying to see anyone off, what an honor!"

Back at the main lot the youngest two, Owain and Ptah, were getting ready to become teenagers themselves.

University Legacy Challenge

"Happy birthday to me!"

For Owain I, probably eventually, rolled Family.

University Legacy Challenge

"Great, skillbuilding I don't mind, but playing pool over and over is just so boring!"

Since Padma had graduated I had her move into the main legacy lot and work with Mercury on maxing her skills.

University Legacy Challenge

"Ew! I think this guy is rotting!"

Vulcan, on the other hand, moved in and immediately started working on getting those 30 best friends in earnest. Which meant a lot of time on the phone or on the bench out front, and a lot of time in and out of the energizer.

University Legacy Challenge

"Ah, but that last one is the best part!"

Ptah became a teenager not long after that, and for him I rolled Fortune.

University Legacy Challenge

"Playing pool isn't all that bad. If you're good at it then you shake down your dorm mates for money."

After Padma maxed her skills I decided I was going to off her for a unique ghost color. The first thing I tried was downloading the scissors from the exchange. Her fun filled too quickly though and it was hard to get her to do it consistently for any length of time.

University Legacy Challenge

"Who says running with scissors is bad?"

Here is a portrait of the family to date, once again not everyone is looking at the camera and there is some clipping of limbs, but I do get a little better, eventually.

University Legacy Challenge

"Third Generation - Second Bloodline: Ptah, Padma, Venus, Mercury, Gawain, Vulcan, Owain"

Right after I took that picture I took a series of pictures depicting my fast and simple death for Padma. Death by drowning. I had her go in the pool and just sit there until her energy bottomed out, and then I had her swim to the other end of the pool, when she got there she immediately begane flailing and, well, drowning. It was a bit too close to the edge for all of the pictures though. I included a LOT of pictures, and trust me this is pretty trimmed down. I figured it was the first and last time I'd be seeing it, so I documented the event very well.

Points Earned: Orion earned half a point in scholarships. One point for Padma's impossible want. One point for new Ghost color Blue (Padma).

Wow, great post! I like how you really documented the death of Padma, wow...I think I would get bored of taking all those pictures!

Poor Padma. I also moved in people of the Knowledge persuasion, let them max their skills and move out. But this, this sucks! And good luck, drowning ghosts suck unless you do them in 9th Generation!

Oh yes, I did not know about that little puddle quirk until after I had made the ghost. This was my first time going for ghost points! Between Padma's puddles and my other ghosts randomly killing off my Sims... well I bet you can guess what I decided to do. It was only two points anyway. :P

Did you get rid of the urn? I always felt bad about doing that....maybe i'll just get sombody to smash the urn....didn't Camisha Daltow do that?

Posted by: Sara on January 18, 2007 07:56 AM

No, I just arranged it so it was impossible for the ghosts to leave the mausoleum by deleteing the stairs that lead to it. If I had smashed the urn it would have made her furious and if I had someone sweep her up I would have lost the point. :(
