The Orphanage Redux

Filed under Downloads > Windling Homes on July 04, 2006

Solveig Windling was the fifth child of Prometheus and Maura Windling, but the first that was adopted. She grew up at Windling Gables and once she became an adult she moved in with her father's cousin (and her best friend) Jan Windling out at The Farmhouse. She took with her Ares and Phoebe, her teenage brother and sister, her half brother Pan and her youngest brother Hades.

After living there a few months she felt a calling to help other orphans as she has been helped and so took her savings and with a little help from her parents and Jan started an orphanage. After moving there she adopted seven little girls: Mallory, Lindsay, Cheryl, Amber, Amanda, Carmen and Sierra. They have kept her hands full over the years and have brought her joy by giving these girls a better life then they would have had with the social worker.

With a little monetary boost from having invested in the slightly dodgy "corporation" run by her sister Asia and Marylena Windling she was able to purchase land and have built a larger and more proper orphanage. The new facilities were excellent and Solveig and the girls were thrilled to have them, Solveig for the new skills the girls could now acquire, and the girls for the new trouble they could now get into!

The Orphanage

The Orphanage is a small but comfortable three bedroom home set up to accomodate a single parent and seven children. There are three bathrooms, one that is made up of four toilet stalls, one that has four shower stalls (designed so even a shy Sim will use them) and the third is made up of two toilet stalls and two shower stalls.

The ground floor contains a library, a common area (a pseudo-skills room as it were), a study (set up to allow space for seven little girls to do their homework), a dining room with seating for eight, and a kitchen.

The basement has a common area for painting lessons, a portrait studio to take snapshots of the children, a bathroom, a small energizer room with aspiration rewards for the adult and a "reward" room for the children that includes a television, video game console, three pinball machines, a myshuno game and assorted seating.

The second floor has a common area with toy boxes, teddy bears and doll houses, two bedrooms for the children and a master bedroom for the adult with a private balcony off of it, two bathrooms and a dressing area.

The exterior contains grill, pool, seating and a swingset. There is room for a driveway to either side of the lot but the left better accomodates it.

Game Play Tip: The tables in the Study are close to the Kitchen and so a Sim might decide to eat there. If you don't want them to, place sculptures or plants on the tables until a child is ready to put their homework there. Remember a Sim can leave one homework assignment undone once they receive an A and you can use that assignment to "reserve" a spot for that Sim and they will lay all future assignments there.

Ooh, it looks amazing-- I can't wait to download it! (Unfortunately, The Sims 2 only runs on my laptop, which is unavailable at the moment, so I have to wait until tomorrow...) And I can't wait to start downloading that wallpaper or read the entry, either. Three updates in a day? You're the BEST.
