The Farmhouse Redux

Filed under Downloads > Windling Homes on February 09, 2006

Jan Windling was the adopted daughter of Cronus Windling (now deceased). Her adoption was what allowed her grandfather Pao to pass away happily.

She moved out of Windling Gables when she was an adult. The house was getting overly crowded with her cousin's family and she was ready for some fresh country air again, like she has when she was living at the orphanage. At the request of her cousin Prometheus' wife Maura she also took three of her cousin's children with her. Maura hoped they would have a stress-free and happy childhood away from the chaos of Windling Gables.

Jan purchased the Windling Family Farmhouse and moved there with Prometheus' twin daughters Asia and Theia and his toddler son Atlas. Years passed and the twins and Atlas grew up and moved out to form families of their own, leaving Jan alone at the Farmhouse. Later she was remembered and Prometheus sent his adult daughter Solveig to live with her along with several other children including his teenage son and daughter Ares and Phoebe, his alien son Pan and his youngest son (at the time) Hades. They too began to move on, growing up and moving out; Solveig started an orphange, Ares and Phoebe found spouses and formed families.

Soon all that was left was Jan, now an elder, Pan, still a teenager, and young Hades, the only child of an heir that was never allowed to grow up. Jan used some money that she had been setting aside over the years and bought them all a much larger home more properly designed for the boys and herself. They may have been forgotten by the Windling family at large, but they still had each other, and that was what counted.

Update: Once settled in their new home Jan retired from her job as a Mad Scientist and devoted her spare time to tending her garden in the warmer months while arranging flowers in her basement workshop during the winter ones. Pan helps out around the house with the chores while Jan is out in her garden, though he spends most of his evenings with his girlfriend Meadow. After a time Jan went out and adopted a furry companion for herself and the boys, an old labrador retriever named Annie, which has settled into the family nicely. Annie is quite close with Hades, who has taken to spending his evenings with her playing fetch behind the house or trying to teach her new tricks, which he isn't always successful at.

The Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is a three bedroom, three bathroom home designed for three to five Sims as is. There is an upstairs games room, a downstairs library, living room and kitchen, and a basement skills room, band room, hang out room, energizer room and a room that can either hide career rewards or be an extra bedroom. There is a patio the front right of the lot with a most expensive telescope hidden in the trees to the back. Room was made for a driveway to the front left of the lot.

Beautiful. I love how spacey all the rooms are. That's the way to go though, to avoid any traffic jams with your sims. ;-)That style of house is so pretty. Neat job!
