Letters from Windling Manor: Home for Boys
Dear Mrs. Windling,
As you probably already know, your son Mr. Windling Uncle Weldon Mr. Windling has opened an orphanage here at Windling Manor: Home for Boys. He has also required us to write to you weekly, 'cause he says old people like to be written to. So this is my first letter. I hope you like it!

I'm the first boy to live here by the way. My name is Damion, and I want to own a ranch when I grow up.

It isn't so bad here. The chores aren't as harsh as back at the regular orphange. Just clean up after yourself, and mind your manners. Actually Uncle Weldon told me to add that last bit. He calls us ill-mannered brats a lot before he has coffee in the morning.

This is Bruce. He's a suck-up. He is always talking about ways to romance the ladies, and about kissing and gross stuff like that. Uncle Weldon keeps telling us we should be more like Bruce, but I think that's stupid would rather just be me. Girls are stupid. I know you're a woman, Mrs. Windling, but you have to understand, I would much rather work on my dream of being a cowboy then waste spend time with a girl.

Well I gues that's it. I'll write to you again next week, Mrs. Windling, promise! I hope you drop on by real soon, I'll show you the perfect spot for some stables out back.
Love,
Damion
Dear Mrs. Windling,
My name is Sean and I'm new to the Home for Boys. We're supposed to write to you every week, so here I am! Though I'm not sure what to say.

Uncle Weldon is really nice to us. We don't have tons of chores, and he lets us do what we want most of the time. He's pretty strict about being together for meals though, and about being quiet in the morning before he's had coffee.

The other boys are alright. Damion has these huge dreams about owning a ranch and riding horses every day and even doing a rodeo, which is pretty cool. Bruce just likes talking about girls and kissing and other gross stuff like that.

Damion is definitely not a morning person though. He's pretty fogged over through most of it and is really grouchy until he's had breakfast. He and Uncle Weldon are a lot alike when it comes to that.

The rest of the day though he spends talking about his ranch and about how we could all work together to own a big one some day. He says he'll let me run the stables, and that Bruce could be the rodeo clown! Just kidding.

Peace,
Sean
Dear Mrs. Windling,
My name is Korey and I'm from an orphanage in Sim city. The other boys give me a hard time, they've got a problem with my "attitude" apparently. It's nothing I can't handle.

I can't help that they think I sneer at them all the time. It's not like I'm doing it on purpose or anything.

Besides, Uncle Weldon is keeping us too busy to get into too much trouble. He bought pianos and is requiring that we each sit down and practice for a little bit every day. Sean really enjoys it. In fact he usually keeps playing long after the rest of us have grown bored and headed out back to the pin ball machines.

I'm not the only new boy here, the other is this boy named Juan. We give him a hard time because he has such a baby face. Uncle Weldon just says that the girls will love him to pieces when he's older. Like that's something to look forward to.

I promise to write more next week.
Later,
Korey
Dear Mrs. Windling,
It's Bruce here again. I just thought I would try and keep you up to date on how things are going here. There's a new boy named Kenneth. Sean claims that Kenneth is trying to bite his style, but I'm pretty sure he's just jealous of the fact that Kenneth gets along with everyone a lot better then he does.

Maybe if Sean spent less time with his books and his piano, and more time hanging out with the rest of us he wouldn't have such a hard time of it.

Though I don't always like what Kenneth talks us into doing. I mean, like jumping on the bed, flushing the toilets until they clog, or prank calling the neighbors at all hours. What if Uncle Weldon found out? Don't they realize how much trouble we could get in?

When Sean did come over to hang out Kenneth just joked about the matching bandanas and then said he was sure glad that no one was trying to match with Juan. Then he called Juan a loser.

I wasn't sure what hurt Juan's feelings more. The fact that Kenneth said it, or the fact that everyone else laughed about it and agreed.

More on that later I guess. I hope I have better things to report then.
Sincerely,
Bruce
Dear Mrs. Windling,
This is Juan. I know I've already sent the letter for this week, but I wanted to write you again, because I really, really like to write. The other boys think it's silly, but I enjoy it a lot. I even like to sit and do my homework because it involves writing. Most of others don't like doing their homework at all.

I also like to read. Sean and I are the only ones that do really, but Uncle Weldon always makes sure we all sit down and study a bit every day.

For someone who dosen't like to read or write, Damion really likes going to school. Not that anyone of us really hates school, except Kenneth maybe, but Damion, Sean and I are the only ones that really, really like it.

As soon as we get home, we all head out back to play on the pin-ball machines. They are a lot of fun, and by the time we are done Uncle Weldon has dinner ready for us.

But, all this isn't the reason I'm writing to you. I just thought you ought to know that we got a new boy named Gavin. Uncle Weldon says no more can move in with us because of something called a "Housing Authority".

But, that's good isn't it? Uncle Weldon says we are something like your grandchildren. So, you now have seven grandchildren, that's a good thing, right?
Love,
Juan
