Fatima Datlow Inherits The Torch
Fatima Datlow, with her easy-to-fulfill Sell a Masterpiece wants was easily put in Platinum and was able to gain the last few sets of skill points needed to go to college with plenty of money. She spent it well, buying a guitar and constantly earning tips from her rich dorm mates. I'm assuming they are rich because each was easily able to fork over §100-§200 a day. By the time Fatima graduated she had earned §25,000. She was a quarter of the way to her lifetime want.

When she returned from College, with maxed skills and several friends, she also returned with a lovely wife. I swear this woman must be using Meadow Thayer's face template. Her name was Prof. Hippolyta, she was Fatima's old Business Professor. I have a feeling she will have no problems fitting right into the Datlow household.

Aside from her love of pranks, Prof. Hippolyta just seems to be a very happy individual. She is always, always, always smiling.

Even while working she is smiling and happy.

Which may not be as odd as being smiling and happy about getting a face full of water. It was actually a bit eerie. I was starting to worry that Hippolyta was bugged with a dose of permanent Sim Valium.

One day, while Fatima was at work (I had been having her earn career reward objects left and right so it almost seemed like she was never home) Karimah walked by and walked on up into the house. She then proceeded to play a single game of pool before walking off the lot again. Must be all the outgoing Sims.

Hippolyta is a Knowledge Sim with a lifetime want to Max Eight Skills. Conveniently enough, Fatima has been earning a (nearly) full set of career rewards making it easier for Fatima to help her wife achieve the want. Though for certain skills its easier to just have Fatima ask her wife to join. With creativity, at least, you can ask them to join and then have your torchholder Sim cancel the action and go and do their own thing.

Another downside to having Fatima out of the house a lot is that Hippolyta is constantly complaining about low social. As soon as Camisha wakes up Hippolyta is all over her chatting and joking and tickling and so on. Sometimes it's to the point where Camisha can't get a word in edge-wise even if it is to say, "I need to pee."

I thought this was an amusing pic. The bathrooms are small in this place with only bare neccessities, because it's not like the Sims care. This one time Camisha and Hippolyta timed their actions so that they both got to the nearest bathroom at the same time and didn't have time to shoo the other out before going about their business. As soon as this picture was taken Hippolyta got up and shrieked to see her mother-in-law naked. Camisha then got out of the shower and scolded Hippolyta for being in the bathroom while she was showering. It was pretty amusing.

For being an NPC Hippolyta seems to have abysmally low skills. She can't play bass worth anything, it takes forever for her to clean something, she can't repair most things, and she certaintly can't cook worth a darn.

Camisha has far more patience with Hippolyta then I do.

She does take the hint when I call her onto the balcony that I think it would be a good idea for her to paint, though.

Working on Hippolyta's skills takes up most of Fatima's time. In fact, between earning career rewards and working on acheiving both Fatima and Hippolyta's lifetime wants their adulthood was slipping away from me, and fast.

When Fatima was out of the house Camisha and Hippolyta always made sure to spend their time productively. By, you know, sitting at desks...

...and, um, sitting on the couch. Camisha talks to Hippolyta while Hippolyta just thinks about talking to Camisha.

Or, you know, just sitting in general. Hippolyta eats dinner while Camisha just watches other people cook it on TV.

Once Fatima came home though it was back to work for Hippolyta.

So much time passed in this fashion that soon it was time for Camisha to pass on.

It was sad to see her go. She brought home 10k a week and got along really well with Hippolyta, but she had a good long life at least. The hula dancers that came to see her off ended up sticking around for quite a while. I guess the patch didn't fix everything where death was concerned.

Hippolyta ended up mourning Camisha over and over and over again for an hour and half before I gave in and just deleted the thing. Good-bye Camisha, you will be missed, but Hippolyta really needed to pee.

Next up, the very belated fourth generation.

Hi Bitsy, I just got caught up on all your Datlow updates. I'm enjoying it as much as ever, and like others here, I admire your patience and determination with these Sims. I've never had a Sim graduate from college with maxed skills, let alone 25K! That's awesome. Excellent work, I love both the pictures and the commentary. Looking forward to the next one!
