Camisha Datlow Chooses an Heir
One of the hardest aspects of the I'm Surrounded By Idiots Challenge is choosing an heir. You don't know what their personalities are like, or how their aspiration might work for or against them. In fact that is where I am currently stuck in the challenge. I have two heirs that would both work out well for the challenge and I can't for the life of me simply choose one! Here in third generation, though, I am faced with two females of un-determined as of yet aspiration and I can't help but favor Karimah over Fatima.

Fatima seemed to me to be more vindictive then her sister. She was constantly pranking and picking on her older sister. It gave Karimah quite the under-dog appearance in my eyes. Also, Karimah was better at being autonomous. You can't help but favor a Sim like that in a challenge like this, even if it is smarter to choose a Sim who is horrible at being autonomous and leave the good Sim to continue doing a good job taking care of themselves.

My favor of Karimah meant that I had Camisha work with her on her skills far more often then I had her work with Fatima. By the time Karimah was a teen she had points for a body scholarship.

She had points for a charisma scholarship, even though she claimed to not like politics.

And, she had points for a logic scholarship. She had earned points for a creativity scholarship on her own.

In fact, between the girls pranking and poking and teasing each other, and Karimah's little skill building regime, the sisters hardly ever got an opportunity to be with each other. Unlike the twins, they hardly got along at all and it wasn't until well into their teenhood that they became best friends.

Fatima kept herself amused well enough while her sister and mother worked elsewhere.

Soon Karimah grew into a teenager and I rolled Romance! Darn! It wouldn't have been so bad but her lifetime want was to have 20 Lovers. Not easy by any means.

I still held hope that Karimah could be the heir right up until she brought a friend home from school, Elbereth Bowen. After interacting all afternoon I had Camisha influence Karimah to flirt with Elbereth. Karimah used Serenade, I'm not kidding. The curse of Drizella lives on. I certaintly was not going to have an amorous Romance Elder in the house one day down the line that wouldn't even know how to properly flirt with someone. Sorry Karimah.

When Fatima grew up I rolled Fortune, this was a much more viable aspiration, even if the lifetime want was a hard one: earn §100,000.

And, even if Fatima was still a brat that liked to pick on her sister.

I just found this shot amusing. After popping Ramen into the microwave often a teen will whip out her handheld and play until the timer goes off, or go and have a pee, or sometimes even chat with their sister for a bit. That, at least, is more realistic then staring at the stove like a zombie like Sims in the original game did. The microwaves were broke more often then not though, due to the rough treatment.

So, since Fatima was now my heir I had Camisha help her work on her skills through most of her teenhood. Seperating the sisters once again.

It wasn't long before Camisha grew into an elder. Hopefully her Elderhood won't be as violent as Ashanti's was. (Not that Ashanti didn't seem to enjoy herself.)

At that point Fatima's aspiration was getting perilously low, so I had Camisha invite over the headmaster, hoping Fatima would have a want to get into Private School. It was much easier then I thought it would be because the girls had come home, had their fun and were now fast asleep. They both slept through the entire visit. Fatima did have a want for it, and she shot into Platinum. Which was great, no bad behavior was forthcoming from Fatima throughout her entire teenhood.

Well, I suppose bad behavior with Fatima is relative. The next morning her and her sister decided to argue on the balcony until the bus came. They only got plus relationships from it though, because they agreed on everything.

That night Karimah's aspiration slipped into the red. She immediately went out front and kicked over the trash can. After idling for a moment she then bent down and cleaned up the spilled trash and took it inside to put it in the trashcompactor. Like I said, Karimah is a great autonomous Sim.

Unfortunately there was nothing I could do to get her aspiration up before she grew up. I tried introducing her to the teen Sims Camisha knew from when she was young but there just wasn't enough time for them to become best friends, which Karimah had a power want for when she grew up.

I know this because at first light I had Karimah find her own place. She then was merged into the same household with her Uncle Cameron and her other mother, Drizella. Here's hoping your adulthood will be better then your teenhood was, Karimah. Two Romance Sims and an amorous Elder Sim, what a great combination of Datlow Family rejects.

Poor Karimah. At least she won't have to hang around the house feeling depressed. I hope that Camisha will have a more peaceful elderhood that Ashanti!

Whoa, Camisha's an elder already? It sort of seemed like yesterday she was a teenager...:P
Camisha grew into a pretty elder though. :) I like her hairdo.
