Camisha Datlow Inherits The Torch

Filed under I'm Surrounded By Idiots > 2nd Generation on December 14, 2005

(Sorry for the low-quality images in the post. Don't worry the images will improve soon, I hadn't realized it was set on low quality until after I had booted out of the game.)

Camisha Datlow had effectively inherited the torch. There was no going back. It was a tense time. I had never let Ashanti be autonomous before so it was a bit like watching an egg hatch. Was I going to get a chick, or a dragon? So far I was just getting an audience. Camisha did have a want to Sell a Masterpiece. So she ended up going from mid-red to platinum by just selling one painting. I immediately got her into a thinking cap and had her start working on her skills for those scholarships!

She managed to earn all eight skill based scholarships in only two days, as well as getting her own grades up for the good grades scholarship. It was a close thing though. She called the college at 5:45pm, the day she was to turn into an adult.

i-01.png

Ashanti waves good-bye as her daughter goes off to face a brave new world.

i-01.png

Of course, college wasn't really all it was cracked up to be. Camisha registered as a Drama Major and simply ended up suffering through college in a dorm because it was easier to make friends there.

i-01.png

Yep, Camisha may be in college, but she was still surrounded by idiots.

i-01.png

When Camisha returned she had managed to successfully make 20 best friends (influence interactions were just about the only thing keeping her grade up). So while Camisha came home with the skill set for her chosen career (Natural Science), in perma platinum, with more friends then you could shake a stick at, Cameron grew up just in time to drop into full aspirational failure.

i-01.png

Camisha also came home with a new woman in her life. Prof. Drizella her old Drama professor. Now I know some of you are screaming at me right now about how that was an incredibly stupid thing to do in an autonomous household. I didn't know. Ok? I heard there was something wrong with Drama Professors but never what, I assumed they were all Romance Sims. No big deal, when a Romance Sim comes home from work they always want to woohoo, pretty easy to keep their aspiration up that way. Unforunately, Drizella was a Knowledge Sim.

i-01.png

Here Camisha cleans up dinner while Ashanti welcomes Drizella to the family in true Datlow fashion.

i-01.png

As soon as Camisha left the room I watched as Drizella got down on one knee and began serenading her new mother-in-law. Ashanti thought Drizella's singing was horrible.

i-01.png

Apparently all Drama Professors are autonomously amorous. It's how they express their love of their craft. By heaping that love on any poor sod that happens to come by. Ashanti, of course, was infuriated by it, viewing it not as love of drama, but love of mother-in-law as soon as wife is out of view. She poked Drizella repeatedly to drive home the point.

i-01.png

I decided to have Camisha try and keep Drizella away from Ashanti as much as possible by having Camisha help Drizella work on skills.

i-01.png

Meanwhile I kicked Cameron out of the house as soon as the sun rose (and him with it). The last thing I need is to have both a Drama Professor and a Romance Sim in the house at the same time.

i-01.png

Ashanti was not nearly so bad autonomously as I feared she would be. Instead of picking fights and kicking over trash cans and flirting with people she shouldn't be, she painted quietly, played chess, or wrote in her diary.

i-01.png

Meanwhile the attempt to divert Drizella with a Logic fixation ended up fizzling out. After one game with Camisha and a single round which she autonomously played herself, she had maxed her Logic. Apparently she had only needed one more point. And, she didn't even have a want for it.

i-01.png

It was midly amusing watching Drizella and Ashanti cross paths and interact over the next several days. Ashanti would prank and pick on and argue with Drizella. (The arguing never worked because Drizella always agreed with everything Ashanti had to say.) And, Drizella would be amorous and flirty and end up getting shot down, poked, and shoved. I have no idea what their relationship ended up being, but I wouldn't be suprised if there was a cat fight soon. I just made sure to try and keep Camisha out of the room when Drizella and Ashanti went at it. Every time she witnessed Drizella "cheating" on her, their relationship would take a dip, which just meant more work building it back up later.

i-01.png

Having Drizella in the house was both fun and frustrating. It was fun because Drizella kept Ashanti amused and freed Camisha up to work on getting promotions or earning money. It was hard at the same time because I was trying to keep their relationship strong so that they could bring in the next generation.

i-01.png

I thought it was amusing that both Ashanti and Drizella came upstairs to relax on the torch-holders bed. Good thing Sims can't autonomously woohoo or else Drizella would probably proposition Ashanti and that Camisha would know about no matter what room she was hiding in.

i-01.png

Not that Ashanti and Drizella spent all their time fighting. Just most of it. Ashanti, like I said before, is usually a quiet individual. I just think Drizella brings out the worst in her. Here Ashanti offers to play a game of chess with Drizella, which I'm sure built up their relationship. A little anyway.

i-01.png

Usually though it's fighting. I had never seen a "fight" before in Sims, and I figured this would finally be my chance to see one.

i-01.png

Drizella tried to do a high-end flirt with Ashanti, again, one morning in the study and this time Ashanti has had enough.

i-01.png

Of course, Drizella doesn't just take this lying down.

i-01.png

Before their relationship could decay any further Ashanti dashed off to the bathroom to pee before she wet herself. When she got up from the toilet it was 6pm. Ashanti's time had finally come.

i-01.png

Camisha was devastated. But, I was (guiltily) a little bit happy. With only one other autonomous adult in the house I figured that Camisha could now safely go about conceiving third generation. (Remember, same sex mods are in!)

i-01.png

Drizella seemed to not care either way. She had (finally) discovered the drum set and was (finally) improving her aspiration.

i-01.png

For those of you who are curious where I found the name Drizella, it was the name of one of Cinderella's two Ugly Step-Sisters. The other was named Anastasia. Fitting, eh?

As this is the last post about second generation it is also the last post containing low quality images. I finally will get to show off my new graphics card! Yay!

Well, Camisha has finally taken over. I'm glad that Ashanti seemed to have a happy elder hood. Those drama professors are impossible! I tried to hook one of my sims up with one, but she kept getting furious and slapping them! By the way, are the twins naturally blonde? i thought that black hair was dominant....I'm confused!

Ashanti's hair was custom hair that looked black but was actually blond genetically. (Her eyebrows were blond until I changed them to something custom.) I hadn't realized that until after the twins were born. So, since both Ashanti and Jove were blonds the twins are too. Thanks for commenting!

Wow, this continues to be a fascinating and entertaining read! I'm sure Drizella was frustrating, but at least you didn't get bored. :-) Looking forward to seeing the new pics!
