Ashanti Datlow Deals With Teenagers

Filed under I'm Surrounded By Idiots > 2nd Generation on December 08, 2005

(Sorry for the low-quality images in the post. Don't worry the images will improve soon, I hadn't realized it was set on low quality until after I had booted out of the game.)

I end up making extensive notes for this challenge of things that I know already about Sims from pop-ups. Such as whether or not a Sim has an A in school, what skill set the twins have, and where in his career Jove is. According to the Prima guide Jove needed charisma, mechanical, and creativity to advance. Since he had maxed his creativity a long time ago and had successfully repaired a shower on the first try I figured we better work on his charisma during his days off.

On Sunday the twins became teens. For Cameron I rolled Romance (bleh) and for Camisha I rolled Popularity. They both ended up bringing home friends from school. Cameron brought home Cronus Otter while Camisha brought home Achilles Stone. Here Cameron and the boys hang out in the hot tub while Camisha stands outside it continually queing up interactions with the various occupants of the hot tub. It was kind of funny how she edged forward just a little bit more each time there was a new interaction. As if that would make a difference. The only time I have seen Sims get out of hot tubs due to an interaction was either a "shoo" an "ask to leave" a hug or to be pranked.

Here Cameron and Camisha both sit down to lunch together, at the same time! I am no longer suprised that townies do so.

i-01.png

Rather late into the night after watching Cronus and Cameron interact successfully for several hours I decide to have Ashanti influence Cameron to kiss Cronus, hoping to get first kiss aspiration points. He kisses him up the arm, which must mean their lifetime was in the 30's. No first kiss, no nothing. Immediately afterwards Cameron gives Cronus a noogie.

i-01.png

Now that Jove is an elder his social has been decaying quicker then it used to. I have taken to having Ashanti and Jove woohoo daily just to ward off the dread social bunny.

i-01.png

Here are the twins after their make-overs. Now that both of them have maxed their creativity I have sold the pianos and instead put in a pool table. It's handy having it right in the room so when they search for a fun thing to do, it's right next to them. I am hoping that Camisha will manage to earn the pool scholarship.

i-01.png

Of course, even though they are teens, I haven't let up on helping either of them with their homework. Usually I let them work on fun for an hour and then interrupt them to do their homework really quick before leaving them alone for the rest of the night. It's been working out so far.

i-01.png

But, now, the real test is coming. Ashanti has finally managed to work her way to the top of the Natural Science career. That means that she will be gone for the next twenty-one hours. I just hoped that the house would be in one piece when she got back.

i-01.png

When Cameron and Camisha came home they didn't seem to notice or care about the absence of their mother, they just whipped out their handhelds. I am starting to regret giving them those handhelds.

i-01.png

Of course, Cameron starts a fire that night cooking his very first meal. He and Jove freak out, but the fireman (Casper Love) puts the fire out no problem.

i-01.png

Jove immediately decides this is the time to tell Cameron that really great joke he heard at work the other day.

i-01.png

Later Camisha comes in and her and Cameron decide to hang out. Problem: The kitchen table is full of rotting food (breakfast), there is a half finished dinner now rotting on the stove and half of the counters are filthy. So they get up and complain about their enviroment every once in a while and then go right back to hanging out without doing anything about it.

i-01.png

The next morning Camisha fixes herself cereal because the stove still has last nights dinner in it. Jove has managed to clean everything else out of sheer bordem I am assuming.

i-01.png

Once I realize the problem I put in a second stove and a second microwave while I'm at it. Cameron manages to cook his breakfast without issue while Camisha decides to give her father back a little of what he gave her when he tortured her so when she was a toddler.

i-01.png

Actually this family is very grouchy and very playful (not a good combination) and are constantly pranking each other. They think it's a riot and usually get plus relationships for it with each other. When they do it to townies though the townies usually cry.

But, hey, at least they are getting cleaning skill points out of it from cleaning up all the puddles, they favor the water balloon above any other.

i-01.png

After a 5am soke in the hot tub Camisha gets out and dances with her father in the living room until the school bus arrives. At least I now know she has the fancy footwork scholarship.

i-01.png

Finally Ashanti is home for another week. She came home to an empty, and suprisingly clean house. I guess that's what Cameron was doing while his sister and father were dancing.

When they come home from school the kids make a bee line for the Chili con carne. I guess they didn't get much to eat the day before. Unfortunately the nearest fun thing to do in the kitchen is play with the refrigerator.

i-01.png

After that the two headed to bed, when they woke up they decided to hang out again. I'm actually starting to miss the pillow fights.

i-01.png

The next day Cameron brought home Cronus Otter again from school, while Camisha brought home Ares Quigly. As if his last name wasn't bad enough the game gave him a comb over too, poor kid. I had Ashanti influence Cameron to flirt with Cronus hoping he would have a want for it. He used Caress. I was seriously worried it would be rejected, instead the two fell in love and became best friends all in one go. The only one to get aspiration points for it though was Cronus. Cameron just seemed disgusted.

i-01.png

Here, for the first time, instead of the twins ignoring a townie, the townies end up ignoring the twins.

i-01.png

Once the townies finally acknowledged Camisha is was nice having them around. They kept the twins up much later then they would have otherwise so I was able to get them both caught up on their homework, which they were now behind on thanks to Ashanti's new work schedule.

i-01.png

Once Cameron was done with his homework his aspiration, which has been steadily decaying since he became a teen, dipped into the red for the first time. As a sign of his displeasure he went out front and kicked over the trash can.

i-01.png

And, this is where the challenge to the teenage years come in. Yes they are now largely self-sufficent and can't be taken by a social worker, but you have to keep their aspiration up or their behavior will just steadily get more and more destructive.

A week has now passed and Jove has finally gotten promoted high enough to unlock his career reward. I'm not sure if I was allowed to take it, but I did anyway as it is purely a decorative award. I ended up having Ashanti snap candid shots of both Cameron and Camisha. Too bad I couldn't have gotten it earlier in the week, both of the twins have achne now. Though Cameron's is mostly hidden by his bandana.

Wow this was a riot to read. I love this family and the ISBI challenge seems fun, but i know i could never get through the first generation. I'm just that crazy. Haha, and it would stress me out not knowing what was up with the other members of the family.

This challenge is so entertaining to read about. You're actually doing great job with this challenge. I tried it a while back, and I gave up when the second generation heir became a teen. But you are doing fantastic! I can't wait to read more. I'm hooked!

Excellent read, as always! I'm off to read the next couple of posts. ;-)
