Windling Family Farmhouse
When we last left the Windling's Jan was working like crazy to max her skills so that she could move out and take some of these extra kids. In retrospect I should have taken my time and let the kids grow up to teens to see what their aspiration would be. Now I can have a teen max his/her skills and still be 12 days from adulthood, but I didn't know that at the time, I was still perfecting the technique with Jan. Here she is, in a bunny suit because I couldn't be bothered with changing her work out clothes getting lessons from Stephan with the family's new punching bag.
The twins had become children and I had gone shopping, finally. So I was able to dress Rhea and Theia up but I didn't want to dress the twins alike. (I did briefly and couldn't tell them apart for the life of me.) So Asia is my little tom boy now, in Hephaestus' old overalls.
"Let me guess: 'Theia, move over!'" "Well, duh!"
The other reason I wanted to get Jan out of the house is that I was nervous about the number of Sims in the house. I knew there were eight sims in the house but I clicked Try For Baby anyway because I couldn't resist. Then I ended up worried about the bugs I might get with so many Sims around. I thought I got a picture of it, but at one time all nine Sims, baby, two toddlers, child, three adults, and two elders were asleep and I was in triple time for a bit. That so rarely happens normally.
Here all eight Sims, sans Atlas the toddler who was playing in the nursery, sit down for one last meal together. Jan had maxed her skills and I thought it would be nice that, even if everyone wasn't served, everyone sit down and chat for a bit before Jan left with the three little ones.
I moved Jan out but before I moved her and the kids into a new house I switched to playing the Windling Bachelor Pad to bring it up to speed. Hephaestus, the youngest third generation Windling had just aged into a Teen and I had rolled Fortune.
At this point I decided to move them in a cute little bungalow that they could afford and to play them out. Having Cronus, who had aged into an Elder paint his heart out.
Epimetheus woo the local women, and hopefully hoo them too. Inbetween gaining skill points. (What's up with that want? Do they think the skill points will impress the ladies?)
And have Hephaestus earn money and buy expensive paintings and stereos and bars and the like to furnish the place. Like a true Windling, letting him be autonomous in a bathroom leads to goofing off in the tub.
It sounded like a good game plan to me.
Then I switched to playing out Jan's little scenario I used money cheats to get her a nice farm house out in the country. I figured Jan thought the main house was too crowded and crazy and left taking several of the younger children with her to get some fresh air out in the country side. These kids have been having a much nicer childhood out here as I let them play much more often that I ever would have at the main house.
Here's Jan teaching Atlas "everything a toddler needs to know". She had no wants for it but i figured walking and potty training were two must haves for a toddler.
Next I invited over the headmaster. He was estatic with the house as I had prettied it up to my heart's content. It is a very girly farmhouse, really.
He accepted the twins into private school almost directly after the meal. I had previously had Jan hire a nanny and go clothes shopping to get the twins some more farmhouse appropriate attire.
Theia is on the left and Asia is on the right.
Before I knew it, it was time for Atlas to grow up. So I threw my first legacy birthday and to my complete suprise it was a success. I invited over Prometheus and Maura and they both became best friends with each of the twins, which helped I'm sure.
Here's a pic of the kids going to school, it was only then that I realized that Atlas had not been admitted to private school, whoops. Will have to remember that in future.
I switched back to playing the Windling Bachelor Pad a bit to get some Romance Sim practice with Epimetheus. He had a want to Make Woohoo and he had a want to be friends with Calista Despret, his old nanny. So that must have meant he wanted to woohoo Calisata...
Right, Epimetheus... right?
Epimetheus went straight to sleep afterwards but Calista went downstairs in her underwear and proceeded to steal their lawn gnome. Though to be perfectly honest I had bought it for this very purpose. I wanted to see it being stolen...
And, my Sims going to steal it back. Actually both Cronus and Epimetheus qeued up the "steal back gnome" action, Cronus just happened to get there first.
The next thing I wanted to focus on was Hephaestus' first kiss which was suprisingly harder to attain then usual. I had him try with the paper boy but it just wasn't working out.
"It's because I'm an alien, isn't it? You got a thing against aliens, don't you? It's species profiling, that's all it is!"
The very next night he brought home a friend from work. Another teen, in a lama suit. Could this be true love?
Switching back to the main house was nice after all the other daliances and I decided to speed things up I should start out with a ready-made kid to move out when they grew up (and to take a few kids with them!). So, I had Maura adopt a child and she adopted a little girl, Solveig.
This is just to show the really atrocious clothing she came in.
Here she is after I fixed her up with some nice clothes, and make-up, though I left her hair the way it was, I thought it was cute.
Soon it was time for Rhea to become a teen.
I ended up rolling a six so I chose Knowledge, yay!
The very next day at around five I noticed that Aphrodite's lifemeter was pretty far along and thought I should put her in platinum just as a procaution. She was about a day from becoming best friends with her last two friends before hitting the 30-Best-Friend impossible want, and I really wasn't expecting her to die, because it looked like she had at least two days left. So I had her go over and flirt with Stephan like she wanted to which just edged her into Platinum and almost as soon as the interaction completed...
As soon as death left and my Platinum Urn appeared, I was relieved I had even that, my game bloody froze. I had lost so many things because of my bad graphics card which has caused my game to lock up on multiple occasions. Everything from new family friends (who won't walk by a second time) to getting certain NPCs to come over (completely random) to a $50,000 chance card. Yes, I lost one once right when I would have needed it most too. The one time the game gives me a chance to do something good with a restart I was damn well going to take it. When I booted the game back up I had Aphrodite drink the Elixer of Life.
Next Time...
-Numbers Six and Seven are born.
-The twins become Teens.
-Aphrodite finally passes on.
-Prometheus does something really great for me that a split second later I realize was really stupid.
(Hah! Think on that one a bit!)
Till then.

Wow, Bitsy! I absolutely love the new layout of your site. It's so awesome. I missed your updates while I was gone. I'm so glad I'm back now. This was a great update. I can't wait to see what happens next. I'm so sorry about your game freezing. That has happened to me a couple times and it made me want to pull my hair out. Well, keep up the good work!

Wow, I've been itching to do something like you have done, write a blog on my sims. You have definitly inspired me. Did you originally start out with just one sim or create a whole family first? Also, do you design your sims clothes?
