Growing Up and Moving Out
The last time we left the Windling's I had just completely rebuilt their home. That very night it was time for their very first birthday. Hephaestus was ready to grow up! I'm not sure why I bought a table now. It seems rather superflous in retrospect.
Right after his birthday I got my first big bug. I had little bugs up till now. Things that would go crooked when going over one particular area and the odd birthday thing with Cronus a while back. I had Aphrodite call Brandon Lillard, she was acquiring best friends like nobodies business now that she had finally reached the top of the career. Her social was low and I figured I'd have her chat like mad, expecting at least a daily of 70 or 80 considering how low in Social she was, and then let their lifetime rise naturally before inviting him over to befriend.
She talked for like four Sim hours and then hung up to go to the bathroom before she wet herself. I checked her relationship score. Daily 82 and still not friends. What? I happened to be looking around the lot for someone's homework and found Brandon Lillard standing in the back yard like this:
I went into buymode and "turned on the light" so you could really see him. He just stood there, as if he was on the phone, kinda stuck. I had Stephan ask him to leave and then this happened:
A slew of Sims that I realized Aphrodite knew but hadn't been in her phone book recently. I used the move-objects hack to delete them and then things seemed to go back to normal, they even reappeared in Aphrodite's phone book. Whew, that was scary.
While all this was going on I had Cronus teaching Hephaestus to walk in the newly decorated nursery. (Someone had come home with a timely promotion.)
The next day Jan brought home Ricky Cormier from school. He's a nice kid and seems to be pretty maleable and willing to kiss just about anybody. He gave both Aphrodite and Cronus their first kisses. So I had Jan work on him a bit and he warmed right up to the idea.
After that everyone was busy taking care of needs and skill building for work and the like so I set Jan to taking care of little Hephaestus. She even played with him a bit, tossing him into the air until he sicked up on her.
Before too long it was time for Hephaestus to grow up again so I had the family gather around for a little birthday celebration. Even Jan took a break from her skill building regime to celebrate.
He ended up growing into his half-sister's pjs, poor kid. Still pretty normal looking, well aside from the green skin of course.
Next it was time for Aphrodite to grow up. I think it's a testament to my addiction to the game and my fascination with this family that I can actually tell that this is Aphrodite and not Gaia. Still, I think a change of clothes might be in order.
Stephan grew up about this time too. Actually I kinda forgot about him so it just sort of happened. Poor guy.
Finally it was time for the twins to grow up. Bye-bye achne and homework, hello full time jobs and impossible wants.
It was at about this time that both Pao and Gaia began haunting and I realized that they weren't leaving my little mosuleum. For the full run down and this discovery and my theories on why it works go here. I think I might post it all here as well just as another reference.
I actually hadn't picked a wife out for Prometheus yet and so on his first day as an adult he ended up picking out his wife for me. He started a fire (again) and instead of Mitch or Neil or whoever a woman came rushing in. I was so shocked I didn't manage to get Prometheus to greet her or tip her or chat with her or anything.
So, after a shower, I set him to cooking and then had him sit in the dining room and wait. As long as was sitting in the dining room, he didn't wig out, so it was a great method of summoning fire fighters. He started what must have been 6 or 7 fires before finally the woman ran in again. Her name was Maura. I had him tip her and chat with her, then when she left, invite her over.
I eventually built up the relationship enough to have her move in and that's when I discovered she was a Family Sim. At this point the casual notion strolled though my head that perhaps I should go for that 10 Children want and though, why not? Some room needed to be made first though so it was time for some people to move on out. Cronus, his nephew Epimetheus and his son Hephaestus all packed their bags and moved on out. I ended up moving them into a lovely little place called the Windling Bachelor pad. More on that another time though.
The fourth generation was just in sight so I had Prometheus propose to Maura in the same spot the last two generations have.
Then had them get married there too because I had torn down the Chapel and thought it might be a better idea to get started on having kids right away anyway. And, hey, Prometheus wants 30 Best Friends, Maura wants 10 Kids, why can't the two coincide?
The baby music played so the fourth generation is on it's way.
Next Time...
-Fourth Generation comes along.
-The Windling Bachelor Pad becomes Test A Scenario central.
-Jan grows up and works on maxing those skills.
Till then.

Ooh, fun fun, so glad you're updating again, Bitsy! Your family is so unique, and I love the new house. I think I might keep my next Legacy house all on one floor, too, but build a mausoleum (thanks for that idea!) to keep the ghosts mostly contained. Anyway, I look forward to the next update! (The Test-a-Scenario Central has me very intrigued...)

Hey Bitsy! This was a great update. I'm glad things are going well (besides that little bug you had going on). Your mausoleum idea is great, I think I'm going to make one once the Hamptons start to pass on and I've got enough money. Keep up the great work. As always, I can't wait to read your next update! It's so great that you're back!
