Four Down, Six To Go

Filed under Legacy Challenge > 4th Generation on March 30, 2005

Right off the bat I got Maura a job in the Athletics career. I knew that it was the highest paying career and I had yet to get that reward object anyway. We really needed to get this place some flooring and wallpaper. Some extra bathrooms wouldn't go amiss either. Here's Maura going off to work in her lovely lama outfit.

She came home with a promtion and hours later went on maternity leave for her first child. Since she was serious enough and had the Logic I had her meditate through the pregnancy. I had locked in her Have A Baby want so I wasn't too worried about aspiration drainage. Here she is going into labor, simply because the looks on their faces are too funny.

d-5g1-3.jpg

She gave birth to a baby girl, with her mother's skin tone, her father's brown eyes and her great-grandfather's brown hair. I named her Rhea.

"I'm the fourth generation heir!"

I switched over to playing the bachelor pad at this point and was bored to tears. I wasn't creative enough to think up of a mini challenge for them and so I just dropped into triple time and yawned my way through the ensuing week to bring them up to speed.

Here's a pic of Hephaestus looking particularly cute in a lounge chair, I didn't know kids could sit like that!

Switching back to the main house was a relief. I guess I'm one of those players that sticks with one family and dosen't like swapping around much. This seems to be in direct conflict with the way everyone else seems to enjoy playing.

It was time to grow Rhea into a toddler. I was glad because Stephan's Aspiration was getting low and as a knowledge Sim he immediately wanted to teach Rhea everything.

d-5g1-7.jpg

So I got him started on that, with a little Smart Milk help from Maura.

d-5g1-8.jpg

After that want spun away another easy to fulfill want came up so I sent him a'skipping out to the mosuleum.

d-5g1-9.jpg

Gaia never liked him much anyway.

After that Maura gave birth again, this time to twins! Asia was pretty much Rhea's clone, but Theia had her father's lighter skin tone, which was nice. Here's Aphrodite playing with Asia while Rhea and Theia were napping.

d-5g1-10.jpg

When it was time for the twins to become toddlers everyone else was working on needs so only Prometheus was available to take care of the little ones. Asia's needs were in worse shape so sent him off to take care of her first. Meanwhile Theia crawled into the Study and jammed out to the stereo while her mother and grandmother played video games and her great grandfather got himself stuck in a chair. Serves him right. When I eventually did get around to freeing him, by having Jan sit in the chair, he went back to the mosuleum and hasn't left it since.

Meanwhile the family had made enough money that I was able to finish decorating the interior so I begane sprucing up the exterior a bit. The apple statue is in honor of Gaia, naturally. I ended up having to delete the pretty garden fencing around the bushes though. Now that was a dumb idea Maxis, who didn't have stone fringe around a garden right next to the house growing up? Honestly.

d-5g1-12.jpg

At about this time Rhea grew into a child. I also sold the TV and SSX3 as I was finally able to upgrade to these wonderful quiet pinball machines that not only build fun faster, they also build relationships when more then one Sim plays on them.

d-5g1-13.jpg

At this point I switched back to the Bachelor Pad. I moved the boys out of the house they were in and moved them into a cheap three bedroom place that only cost about $19,000. Once Epimetheus and Cronus had returned with a paycheck or two they were able to afford a TV and an easel but that was about it. I was ready to experiment. I had them invite over the headmaster.

d-5g1-15.jpg

I had tried inviting over the headmaster once before at the main house but he wouldn't come in, just said the place was too low class. This time he did come in and though he said these were atrocious surroundings for a child he stayed for dinner. I had Cronus cook up some Lobster Thermidor since I had maxed his cooking while preparing all those meals for himself up in his suite. I ended up having the boys schmooze like crazy to get the score up high enough but finally Hephaestus was accepted to Private School.

d-5g1-16.jpg

So, that's what I largely end up using my satellite houses for, as experimental grounds for scenarios I hadn't been proficient at or tried before: Weddings, Sleep Overs, Headmasters, Parties and some other things just for fun to relieve the monotony of the main house from time to time.

Meanwhile back at the Windling Gables Jan had grown into an adult and to celebrate I had her prepare Baked Alaska. Also at this time, though I have no pictures of it, number four had been born a boy with his mother's tan skin, his father's black hair, and his great-grandfather's blue eyes. It would figure that even though Gaia was custom content only Pao's genes are showing up left and right. I think it was with this child's birth, whom I named Atlas, that made me completely sure that Gaia's genes had well and truly died out of the main family line.

d-5g1-17.jpg

The twins meanwhile had both learned to walk, talk and were potty trained so they were largely self sufficient. Well, as self sufficent as a toddler gets anyway.

d-5g1-18.jpg

"You done? Good, move over Theia, it's my turn now! Don't make me wet my diaper!"

Next Time:
-The Twins become Children.
-:Hephaestas: becomes a Teen and the Windling Bachelor Pad moves again.
-Room needs to be made for numbers five and six to be born.
-Rhea becomes a Teen, and Aphrodite gives everyone a big scare.

Till then.

I've been checking in on your blog as long as I have been Jen's, so it's great to see that you're back! I'm still catching up with the updates, but I just had to post my happiness. :D Congrats on your abduction and new house!

Great update bitsy! I would love to see some shots of your neighborhood, to see how populated it's getting with all of these 'spare' children your sims are having! And yes, it is good to 'have you back' [wink]

Wow, I didn't know Sim kids could sit in chaise lounges like that, either! Awesome pic. Hephaestus is a cutie. The house is looking great! And wow, lots of kids...I'm not sure I could ever do the "Have 10 kids" want again...madness! ;-)
