High Summer Read-a-Thon

Putting this up a little early because I’m leaving for a road trip and plan to start this thing on the road! It’s time for the High Summer Read-a-Thon hosted by Michelle at The True Book Addict. It runs from July 22nd through the 28th and it’s a whole week dedicated to reading.

My major goals are to get caught up with the manga Battle Angel Alita: Last Order and of course keep my promise to my brothers and finally dive into One Piece. I will quite possibly treat myself to a Georgette Heyer IF I manage to finish the rest of The Maze Runner trilogy first! Finally on the non-fiction front I hope to once and for all finish chewing over Quiet: The Power of Intorverts. It’s a pretty ambitious list even for one week, we’ll have to see how far I get.

I’m also sharing a few read-a-thon resources from past read-a-thons:

If you like the look of my High Summer Read-a-Thon graphic feel free to borrow for yourself, I won’t mind. Does anyone have any Heyer’s they would like to recommend?

I have yet to finish the Maze Runner series. I read the first book and liked it but never found the time for the second and third even though I own them because my boyfriend borrowed my books and read the whole series. I hope you enjoy all of your books. I should add some manga reads to my list for this week :)

I hope you get to go back and read the other two books. It’s a great series and I’m really enjoying The Scorch Trials. If you want a short manga (it’s horror/thriller/mystery just like The Maze Runner) I recommend King of Thorn. Good stuff! Hope you enjoy the read-a-thon!

Thanks for joining me for the read-a-thon! I hope you get some good reading in this week. And thank you for the links. I went over and followed several of the boards. Happy reading!
