Women Unbound

I’ve been thinking about joining this challenge for a while. The premise is to read a set amount of women’s studies books, a certain amount non fiction, before November 30th of next year.

I actually already have a couple of books in mind, and at least one book I already reviewed would have qualified! For people looking for a YA fiction novel that contributes to this subject, or just would like to get a younger female in on this, I would recommend the book Just Ella.

  • Philogynist: read at least two books, including at least one nonfiction one.
  • Bluestocking: read at least five books, including at least two nonfiction ones.
  • Suffragette: read at least eight books, including at least three nonfiction ones.

I have some books picked out but haven’t yet decided which level to go for. My reading list so far:

Not sure what other books I will go for, for now I already have two non fiction books so that’s a good start! I guess I will have to look around at the other reading lists and see if there might be any more books that spark my interest.

I also made some buttons for the challenge, because I LOVE making buttons.

I debated The Awakening, too. I read it in high school, but I think I’d appreciate it more now. Look forward to your thoughts!

Very cool buttons! :) After some delay I have also joined the Women Unbound Challenge, as a philongynist (2 books). I can always upgrade if I want to ;)

Memoirs of a geisha is on my shelf but I don’t think I’ll get to it this year : Or… I could read it and join the Read a book, See the movie challenge, LOL.

I am using one of your buttons on my sidebar. And I have shared all of them with my readers after Susan (of Black-Eyed Susan’s) commented on how stunning it was. Here’s where I shared them:

Thank you for designing these. They are beautiful.
