Out Phishing

Disappointed
Matt and I have been out phished. Though not for real, don't worry.
Phishing is when an organization attempts to get ahold of a vast amount of personal information from multiple users for nefarious purposes. Your name, your address or your phone number for starters, your credit card number or your account information for ebay, paypal or your online bank if they can wrangle it. In essence, very bad people.
Their attemtps at this range from posing as a lawyer requiring information from your internet provider, to spam emails that urge you to go somewhere and enter in account information that look legit but aren't.
Anyway, Matt and I found an online quiz to test our phising know how. We were out-phished.
Twice we thought an email was fake that turned out to be legit and once we thought an email was ok that turned out to be a complete fake for a total score of seven out of ten. Out of curiousity, how did everyone else do?

my score was similar to yours. once i thought it was fraud when it was legitimate. Twice I thought it might be Legit when it was fraudulent. When these types of e-mails actually come to me, I get certain clues to help me know. For instance, when I got a request for an update to my CitiBank Account, I knew it was a fraud because I do not have a CitiBank Account. Hey, I'm no dummy.

Should of known that you would get everything right. Eathlink looked too legit to us. Turned out to be a fake. And, Matt is still contesting that PayPal dosen't do shipping.
